This book is incredibly helpful on many levels. Apart from an extremely enlightening explanation of what marketing is and how it works, the author's approach to the writing of a marketing plan makes the process easy to understand and emulate.

I have read many books and bought many programmes about marketing for small businesses, especially online marketing. However, much of that information has been vague and unhelpful and focused on copying one strategy, regardless of whether it was the right strategy for me and my business or not. Inevitably, I didn't get very far that way. After reading this book, I understand why. What is more, I can now create a plan and choose strategies for achieving my marketing objectives that are right for me and my business. That is a huge relief.

It has also been exciting to realize that, as a commissioning editor for a publishing company, I went through almost every part of the marketing planning process described in this book. It was only in reading How to Write a Marketing Plan that I was able to recognize that I had been using a tried and trusted method of selecting books for publication. It will certainly help me to share my own expertise in helping others to write and self-publish their books, too.

If you really want to understand marketing so that you can actually do it with more confidence, knowledge and expertise, this book will reward your investment of time and money many times over.
