I can say this is the best Wrestling Book i read to the date.

It's really interesting, full of little and big stories in wrestling from the 70s, 80s, 00s and 00s. From the Andy Kaufman vs Lawler feud to the Cm Punk vs Samoa Joe trilogy. It tells you the thing happening over the ring, behind, in the office,... The making of of the first wrestlemania, the original screwjob (i'm talking about the 80s, not the montreal one), the sucess of some tag teams,...

Very complete and interesting. O found it really usefull if you want to learn more about this bussiness history.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved this book! 1 Feb. 2009
By Mallory Mahling - Published on
Format: Paperback
"Wrestling's Greatest Moments" is not only a remarkable reference book, it is also a fabulous read! I've only been following professional wrestling since the beginning of the Monday Night Wars in the mid-90's, which means I missed a lot of the greatest moments. Luckily, Mike Rickard is an exceptional storyteller who made those great moments come to life. He also made the trips down Memory Lane come to life, too, and it was a lot of fun to relive the antics of Stone Cold and other modern day icons. I would highly recommend this book.

Hey old school wrestling fans, I believe you will enjoy reading this book. It was an easy read and gave us some great wrestling fun facts. The book was all positive and didn't dwell on the negative aspects of our so-called sport. Very informative for a fan who wants to learn about some not so distant history.

5.0 out of 5 stars 30 years of highspots 11 May 2009
By R. Howell - Published on
Format: Paperback
Simply put, this is just an outstanding book for the wrestling fan. Rickard covers thirty years of top angles, gimmicks, feuds, beatdowns, matches, supercards, and surprises that have occured in the wrestling business. Whether it be Dusty Rhodes getting beat down when his partner Ole Anderson turned on him inside a cage against the Assassins or Hulk Hogan turning heel for the nWo or the rare double heel/face turn of Stone Cold and Bret Hart at Wrestlemania or Randy Orton getting taken out by Evolution, there is a passion in the writing and spectacular coverage of many great events. We're not stuck with just the WWe, but rather we get everything from NWA, WCCW, USWA, Jim Crocket Promotions, ROH, WCW, and even a bit of TNA in the end. There's even a few moments I had forgotten about until Rickard took me down memory lane. Wonderful selection of 'greatest moments' and about the only thing I would add was the Barry Windham heel turn on Lex Luger to become the newest Horseman and solidifying that faction as the greatest ever (it does get mentioned in the book but not in the section of greatest double-crosses).

Truly a must have for wrestling fans and worth every penny. Kudos to Mr Rickard for an excellent book on everyone's secret love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Great 13 Feb. 2009
By Randy Lee - Published on
Format: Paperback
I never leave reviews on websites for any reason. But now I have a reason to leave one. Wrestling's Greatest Moments was a trip down memory lane. There are things in here that made me understand why I love this buisness so much. From the territory days to the Attitude era, it's all highlighted in this very insightful and knowledgable book. Mike Rickard is nicknamed "Magnificant" which is exactly the word I would use to describe his masterpiece of a book.

So if you consider yourself a wrestling fan, either now or when you were younger, do yourself a favor and pick this book up and remind yourself what it was like to enjoy yourself and not worry about the troubles of life. I guarentee you will not spend your hard earned dollars any better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrestling's Greatest Book 20 Dec. 2008
By Dave Mandu - Published on
Format: Paperback
A wonderful stroll through the history of professional wrestling. A very enjoyable reminiscent read this book conjures up memories of NWA Mid Atlantic Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling, WWWF, AWA, etc., along with classic moments from WWE, ECW and WCW.
This book is akin to a "Greatest Hits" collection through the last 40+ years of action in the "squared circle". This book is a MUST HAVE for any true fan of professional wrestling.
My memory was jogged back to classic matches, interviews and angles that I had forgotten about but had to smile when they were recalled into memory by this book. Who could ever forget the classic Roddy Piper antics in Piper's Pit smashing a coconut over Snuka's head, or shaving the head of a midget or beating up jobber "Frank Williams" or of Piper smashing a beer bottle over his own forehead during an interview to prove a point.
Remember classic matches such as "Bullrope Matches", "Dog Collar Matches", "Texas Death Matches" and more? You will once you start reading.
How about Jimmy Snuka performing his "Superfly" maneuver off the top of a steel cage during his title match against champion Bob Backlund. These and MANY MANY MORE are relived in great detail. This is a very enjoyable read and a welcome addition to my book collection.
