10cc chalked up more Top 10 singles and albums in the UK than virtually any other band of their generation: their most famous creation, 'I'm Not In Love', is a pop classic that has been played more than 3 million times on American radio; their records have been covered by everyone from The Pretenders to the Fun Lovin' Criminals; and their admirers include REM. Yet 10cc's enormous contribution to pop music consistently gets overlooked. From 'Rubber Bullets' to 'Dreadlock Holiday', from 'The Wall Street Shuffle' to 'The Things We Do For Love', from 'I'm Mandy Fly Me' to 'Good Morning Judge', 10cc were responsible for some of the greatest singles of all time. Albums like "Sheet Music", "The Original Soundtrack" and "How Dare You" were hailed as masterpieces by critics at the time, demonstrating an inventiveness, a lyrical brilliance and a sense of humour that made the group totally unique. This book details the stories behind the songs that made them internationally famous; the highs and lows of life in the studio and on the road; and the careers of the band's members before and after 10cc, from penning hit records in the sixties for the likes of The Yardbirds and The Hollies, writing and recording with Paul McCartney in the eighties, to directing award-winning videos for the likes of The Beatles and U2 in the nineties.

As a fan of 10cc since their previous incarnation as Hotlegs, I have waited many a long year for a book like this to come along......I have not been disappointed. The author has researched so extensively that he could well have been the 5th member!
Every aspect of 10cc is covered, past, present & what might have been the future had they not split.
Liam Newton leaves no stone unturned in his quest to bring us the ultimate biography of one of the worlds largely overlooked Super-Groups who have left their indelible mark on the world of Rock & pop.
The afterword by Eric Stewart is particularly poignant.
This book is a must-have for anyone who has ever bought a 10cc record & wondered about the musical genius behind the clever lyrics & the polished production.
