Fantastic Craig Armstrong soundtrack, went for a reflective and more contemplative score rather than a rousing one. The score celebrates the survival of John and Will without forgetting the 2,977 people who lost their lives that day in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. Yes I know someone may say it was 2,996 but I don't count the scum who were responsible as any great loss. Anyway, back to the score, film soundtracks are an acquired taste, but if it is your taste I guarantee the atmospheric piece will not disappoint. The CD arrived quickly, was well packaged and is a brilliant listen. What more can you want.

This emotive musical score blends in perfectly with Oliver Stone's sensitive film - a film that focuses on survival, hope, compassion and humanity - not the moments that horrified a watching world on 9/11.

The gifted Craig Armstrong - shows true ability in composing music that ultimately adds to the moment. Thankfully, there are no brash arrangements to depict an action scene - because technically, none are portrayed in the film. It's more to do with the aftermath (after the collapse of the Twin Towers) - concentrating on those affected by such tragic circumstances. This is where the soundtrack works so well with the use of subtle string arrangements, piano, percussion and choral works - all adding to the intensiveness of such dramatic scenes.

If you're into other film score specialists like Johann Johannsson, Max Richter...even Peter Gabriel - ref: 'Rabbit Proof Fence' then Craig Armstrong will be right up your street. Quite simply, 'World Trade Center' is a deeply moving soundtrack that draws attention to empathy and resolve - rather than despair.

Utterly beautiful and positively uplifting - just like the film's conclusion.

Craig Armstong proves once again why he's on the speed-dial of every major Hollywood studio. The man could not compose a bad piece of music even if he tried. Not since Anne Dudley have these shores offered up such a world class talent and the similarities don't end there. Armstrong's instinctive and delicate handling of strings has no equal except the aforementioned Dudley and I feel very lucky to have found both at the beginning of their careers so I can follow their work throughout.

Forget the cheesy film, the music is AWESOME.
