The author does a good job of speaking about what the hell is going on with reality but i would say that this book is targeted more toward the reluctant seeker than the person who may have decided to follow a spiritual path for whatever reason. By reluctant seeker I mean someone like me who had no interest at all in religion or spirituality in any form but ended up reading this kind of stuff through circumstance, in my case the catalyst was more of a "ok ive had enough, what the hell is going on?" kinda path after the whole deal got so unrealistic i was forced to do something.

In this regard the lack of dogma and BS that is found in most non duality and enlightenment books is a breath of fresh air. There arent any happy uplifting messages about higher states and bliss and whatnot but if thats your thing there are plenty of alternatives out there, literally thousands.

This book is basically a straightforward account of a normal sort of fellow finding out to his satisfaction what its all about. It is delivered in a conversational tone which is nice for those of us who have no one to discuss such matters with in person. If you have any experience with non-duality you will be aware that the answer is simple and not particularly appetizing to the "ego" which is of course you (without getting too zen "you are not you" about it). Its also a bloody mess to go through and something only a seriously deranged masochist would ask for so its nice to pretend you are not alone with it all and the way this book is written allows you to hear anothers story in a manner that is neither lesson nor lecture.

What also impressed me about it was the discussion of the most thorny of non-duality issues, other people.

Richard had really encapsulated what true freedom is.
This book is a real 'page-turner' and that's an enormous feat for a book on Nonduality. They are usually so dry and a bit lifeless which should hardly be the case when one is writing about aliveness! But Richard has a wonderful way of putting things. and is a talented writer indeed. Highly reccomended.

I found the book veey intellectual in its decriptions which is fine and different to most non dualists who merely state their belief without any real evidence. The writer puts forward the usual non duality belief of no one being present based on intellectual arguments. It was a little too theoretical for me but may be fine for others. Its a pleasant enough read and more interestingly put together than most non duality books. If you follow or wish to follow the non duality beliefs and ideas then this is quite a good read .
