thought the bombing from the Luftwaffe to be at an end by 1944, as East Anglia felt much safer. We knew of course London was under attack from Doodlebugs and later V2 rockets, but until reading Rubys diary did not know the Luftwaffe were still able to bomb with aircraft in early 1944.We are all indebted to everyone who helped to get this diary published, it is much better than any dry history book. Thanks Ruby, I can never pass Romford again on the railway without thinking of your diary, incidentally the family story is worthy of Charles Dickens except the characters are real ,not fictional people.
