Having been to both Madrid and Paris, but not in between I was curious to see the highlights of the train ride. The dvd starts in Paris, where they spend a considerable amount of time showing off Paris. Too much time, in my opinion, considering the dvd is only an hour long. The train ride starts just about dusk, so you don't get to see much of the beginning. Leaving Paris is just like leaving London or any other large city, it's fairly boring to begin with. Some of the footage is from inside the train, the sleeping quarters and passengers eating and drinking. There wasn't much focus on the train itself. The scenery from the train ride also could have been better, I don't recall seeing too much in France (maybe because it was night) and of course in the morning they were in Spain and it was pretty barren looking. Overall, I think they could have done a much better job on this dvd. It is watchable, but I had higher expectations.
