I have always read MissyJohnson and really enjoy her work. This is no exception. A typical love story with angst and tears along the way. I struggled to put it down to be honest. Not as emotional as Out Of Reach, but I still shed a few tears. Loved Max as he came across as an average good looking guy, down to earth with problems of his own from his past and so did Kiara. Terrible tragedy strikes and she is left to deal with the aftermath of guilt, loss and fear. Engaged to Aidan, they have a child Tilly who is absolutely adorable. This follows on what happens with their life's of the consequences of that awful day. She meet's Max through her sister, whom she is drawn to, but will she find the comfort she deserves. Read this wonderful story to find out. Another excellent book from Missy !!!

Gifted for an honest review – 3 ½ to 4 stars
Little bit of a tug at your heart strings kind of book. I enjoyed this, didn’t love it yet didn’t hate it either. It’s not really a story I haven’t read before so it was a tad predictable in that sense. I was kind of expecting great big heaving emotions from this, sadly they were kind of lacking for me. I’m on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster right now IRL so I’m surprised that it didn’t throw me into that ugly cry mode. I felt it should have and maybe could have but I can’t put my finger on as to why it didn’t.
That being said, this was a good read. I found the characters very likeable and I relished in Max not being one of those alpha blokes and really just a normal guy, it was refreshing to read a lead character that way. He had his own insecurities but wanted what any one of us wanted. A chance at love. What he found in Kiara was what he wanted. I liked the way that he fought for her, but didn’t push her. It’s a difficult story to get right I think. An author has to weigh up how much of the character history to involve, you want a reader to sympathise with the main characters yet not throw too much at them with what Kiara is trying to move on from. This story showed a real struggle. The addition of the secondary characters gave for some quite angsty moments too. And Tilly? Just gorgeous, my heart did ache a bit for this little girl.
Definitely worth a read, as I believe most of Missy’s work is, but I don’t think it’s the massive ugly cry that was talked about before release.

This books tugs at your heart, it's emotional and thought provoking. I not sure how would cope in a similar situation but Missy manages to let us see all of Kiara's fears especially for her daughter who is just so damn adorable. I guess sometimes we never know now strong we are, how much we can cope with until we truly are tested. When she meets Max she is still plagued with guilt, how can you move on when your fiance isn't dead even though you know he's not going to get better. Max and Kiara are really likeable characters, I was really hoping eveything would work out for them, and for Tilly.

This was an amazingly beautiful thought provoking story. you can really get where Kiara is coming from, her world is turned inside out when an accident puts her fiancée in a coma and for three years, how could you cope....... this is so emotional and awe inspiring how she lives her life and what she does for her little girl. The loyalty of her family, this story brings out allsorts of feelings and well worth reading as there is a happy ending.

ARC received with thanks from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was a complete emotional heart wrenching rollercoaster of a read and my most recent ugly cry book. It makes you take a step back and look at your life and all credit to this goes to the author. The book was heartbreaking throughout but so well wrote that she made the characters so real it made you feel every emotion along with them. I've never read anything from this author before and I cant wait to read more after this.
Kiara had everything she could want in life, a loving fiancé, and a beautiful daughter, she was young and happy. One night her happiness was taken away from her with tragedy befallen Aiden her fiancé. Three years later she's still not been able to move on. Her fiancés still in a coma with no chance at getting better, in a unresponsive state but his parents aren't willing to let him go. She visits him every week and even though she knows he wont get better she feels guilty for even thinking let alone trying to move on. Things might change though when her sister Ellie decides to take matters into her own hands and sets her up on a blind date with Max. Max is Ellie's partners Grants friend. He's just accepted a principals position at the local school and has been on a lot of disastrous dates set up by Grant so he's surprised when he sees Kiara. There's a lot of ups and downs throughout and without giving to much away I loved how Max and Kiara wasn't just a jump in bed thing, you could feel the internal battle she had and the guilt she felt for even been around Max. Question is will Kiara be able to ever move on and will Max still be there when she is ready?

MY REVIEW
Words Left Unsaid is a second chance at love kind of story.
I liked it but thats it, this book was pushed as this years ugly cry so i was really expecting great things, i wanted to feel these wonderfully heartbreaking emotions, followed by the ugly cry sometimes that just what you need from a book. You know the feelings if you read Carnage that was a beautiful ugly cry book for me, you see where im coming from?
Thats not what i got, dont get me wrong its a nice story but i didnt FEEL very much as i read.
The plot was a good one, the characters likable, writing flowed nicely but thats all i got out of this book a nice story, which is fine but when its been pegged as so much more i feel i little disappointed.
Please dont get me wrong im not bashing the author i have read several books by Missy Johnson and loved them. I kind of wish i hadnt seen any of the build up for this book on Facebook giving it the ugly cry of the year label, then maybe i wouldnt have expected it to blow me away.

If you want a nice build up love story, a second chance at love for two people then this is a nice read and you will enjoy it.
3 stars read for me.
