'This is what Chick Lit needs - more heroines who take the world by the scruff of the neck, who have an idea and run with it, who don't rely on a man to make them worthwhile and Fiore has knocked it out of the park. A total and utter delight' Chick Lit Reviews. (Chick Lit Reviews)

I thought Wonder Women was a total and utter delight. Jo's idea for a clothes shop - which, by the way, is totally amazing and is probably something that someone could do in real life - the execution of the shop, Jo's determination to make it succeed, the backing of her husband, Lee, who by the way, is the most amazing husband, ever. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is for there to be a marriage in a Chick Lit novel that doesn't suffer the normal marriage cliches - it's stale, they're going through the dreaded x-year itch, they're not happy etc. I loved Jo and Lee's marriage, and yes, there is a bit of an incident at the end of the novel, but I didn't feel it was forced and it felt natural, after both parties had changed their careers so drastically. I loved Mel and Holly, both of whom are suffering with their own issues.Read more ›
As with 'Babies in Waiting' Fiore's characters are strong and flawed and real and compelling and likeable and not! The dialogue crackles and you can't help but be swept along on the emotional journey. It's not necessary to have read her previous novel (although I can't recommend it enough) - this stands alone as a great read and a sizable cut above the usual chick lit fare. Can't wait for her next one!
Every chance that I got to read a few chapters I did and I thought it was a great heartwarming story, I can't wait till her next novel.
It's obvious where Holly fits into the shop when we find out that in Johannesburg, she started her clothes business from scratch. She's the sister of Miranda (who has children the same age as Jo and on the periphery of her life) who has moved back to London after a rather heart-wrenching experience. I really enjoyed Holly's life in Jo'burg - such a different way of living. This is only one of the reasons why I love reading, getting to live vicariously through characters!
Mel comes into the story when she's taken on to work in the shop. A traumatic childhood and a life-changing experience in her teens, she's overprotective towards Serena and is very creative in the way she manages to find out what she's doing via social media.
Chapters of `Now' and `Then' tell us all we need to know about the past and where our three women are now because of it. Jungletown is the catalyst that obviously brings them together and is the foundation that holds them together as life happens! I enjoyed this structure to the story making it easy to identify with each woman despite their different ages and circumstances.
All three women have very different `voices' and very different crisis to cope with.Read more ›
I really loved this book, it was such a joy to read! I became so involved in the story instantly and enjoyed every single page. There was never a dull moment, never a point where I wanted to put the book down and I was constantly interested and intrigued in what was happening.
The women in this book really are wonder women. They are strong, they are brave and they have the courage to push forward in their lives and be the best they can be. They truly inspired me, for these were women that I could root for, that I could really get behind and cheer on and most importantly, women that I could believe in. I felt as though I knew Jo, Holly and Mel on a personal level, as though there were close friends of mine, and I genuinely cared about what happened to them.
Not only were the women amazing, but there were some men who really struck a chord with me too. Lee in particular was fantastically written. I loved that he was a husband who wanted to support his wife in her ambitions, and to quit his job to look after their family so that Jo could have the opportunity to reach for her dreams and make them come true, seeing her idea of her own business become a reality.
You just can't help getting swept up in this brilliant novel. There is plenty on offer: strong women to look up to, romance, emotional scenes, friendship, ambitions, hope, and moments that will truly touch your heart.
After reading and thoroughly enjoying Wonder Women, I now can't wait to read her future releases, and will be ordering her other novel, Babies In Waiting, too! I cannot express how wonderful this book is - please purchase a copy because you will enjoy this dazzling novel, it is one of my favourite books that I have read this year! Truly delightful.
