It has a happy mix of traditional, international and everyday recipes. It's a book to get you baking, so there is no massive chapters about esoteric kneading method nor pictures of the best artisan bakers of Vladivostok posing by their ovens.
I have now had the book for 6 months. I am working my way through the recipes, I have to say that as a beginner baker I have not been disapointed - all the recipes turn out with great results (my first effort with hotr cross buns was a bit disastrous - but that was down to my impatience).
I think that this is an execellent book for both the beginner and accomplished baker - good easy to follow recipes that don't disappoint.
It arrived days before it was due and I started baking that day. WOW... simple instructions and easy to follow step by step. The result a resounding success. Whilst it is only a very minor gripe but it covers the basic bread recipies but only a few of the more speciality breads. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a no nonsense reference book with delicious results!
