Last Alpha, bk 1....
'Last Alpha' is the first book I've read by Ruby Fielding, so I wasn't sure what to expect from her. What an intriguing mystery, I was drawn into the book, the descriptive details, the accents... all of it drew me in. I found the characters to be very detailed, some had stronger personalities than others, but you got a good indepth look at their beliefs, lives & dreams. The secrets slowly reveiled throughout this book left me always wondering what was going to happen & then disastor struck & it left me thinking the worst.... could it be this person?? But the ending, WOW what an ending, was a surprise, I had no inkling it was coming. Thank you Ruby for this mystery, filled with twists & turns all the way through.
Rogue Male, bk 2....
Upon starting this book, I was quickly thrust into the Scotish highlands & into the lives of some characters I remember from 'Last Alpha'. Set in the same small town, but meeting new characters, listening (well in my head) to that Scotish brogue.... I was drawn into the book, experiencing the akwardness of that first kiss, the wondering if a certain someone likes me... What turns out to be a weekend surprise visit to a friend, turns into a whirlwind of possible love, new friendships, learning a towns secrets, changes... I'm not going to spoil anything for you, so you'll just have to read it your self. I really loved this book!
Snow Wolf, bk 3....
I couldn't wait to start reading this book, I wanted to find out if Billy, Jenny, Iain & Skye find peace. Once again, I was quickly thrust into the Scotish highlands & into the lives of some characters I remember from 'Rogue Male' & 'Last Alpha'. Set in the same small town, we get to see how Iain & Jenny are slowly getting used to being shifters now, Billy is coaxing them in their training, Skye is still in college, but travelling to Iain whenever he has a particularly bad day. I was drawn into how their lives had changed since the pack became 3 & not just 2. I especially liked how you could read the struggle with balancing your human & your wolf. One moment your wolf wants to shift & the next, you feel like if you do...something bad may happen. Such a confusing time, when just recently there was only ever one. I really don't want to give anything of this storyline away.
I really loved what was going on in this story, & can't wait to read what comes next from Ruby Fielding.
Jenny was a curvy beautiful journalist that blogged about shape shifters. I don’t know if she really believed in them but chased the story and wrote about facts she discovered. She was lucky to get and invention to join Jonathan Carr at his castle in Scotland.
Jenny had hoped to get a story out of Jonathan but Jonathan seemed to be giving her the run around and her story seemed to be heading down a dead end. She was surprised to find out that Billy Stewart was on o Jonathan’s staff members. He was what Jonathan had referred to as the gamekeeper.
Jonathan had several wild game including some gray wolves on his estate. Towns folks were not pleased that Jonathan wanted to get permission to allow the wolves free. But what Jenny could tell was that the wolves were not werewolves and that the experiments that were going on were just to find a cure for cancer. Oh the surprise that she had waiting her.
Billy Stewart was in love with Jenny. He knew deep down that she was his soul mate. Billy had a dark secret one that he would have to share with Jenny. Will Jenny be able to handle finding out that Billy is a werewolf? Will she believe him when he tells her? Is Billy really a werewolf or is he suffering from what is called werewolf psychosis?
This is a great story and has several surprises. There is something that has killed on of the researches by the name of Lilian Lee. Was it one of the wolves, was it Billy, or another werewolf?
I received this for an honest review. This is book two of this series. First book was Last Alpha. For those of you that have read Last Alpha you will be familiar with the characters Jim McQueen, Dougie Walters, Jonathan Carr, Billy Stewart, and Jenny Layne. So you will know what events took place to get us to this point in the story. Personally in my eyes this book can be read as a standalone. I do not feel you would be lost.
Skye Parker who was dear friends Iain Logan. They had kept in touch since he left college. He had told her about the wonderful place he called home and offer for her to come and visit sometime. But Iain was still surprised when she showed up.
Iain Logan was having a rough life. He felt lost and was trying to find his way. He had so much anger built up and was know back in college has the partier. No one seem to ever take him serious and he seemed to be always messing up. Iain needed someone to understand and believe in him. Iain was surprised to see Skye. She was just as beautiful as he remembered. He always felt like she was to good for him.
Iain’s mother seemed happy to see Skye. Skye seemed to be pulling back layers that Iain was hiding behind. Iain had thought he had seen a wolf in the woods but it seemed no one believed him until Skye came along. He really needed that positive energy that Skye gave to him.
Iain had went against everyone’s better judgement and sought after a job with Johnathan Carr. Everyone let Iain know that Johnathan was bad news. Iain thought it was just over his wolves getting lose that time and one killing someone, but he never would of dreamed the danger he would soon find himself in. Iain makes some bad choses and not only puts himself in danger but friends and the girl he loves.
I personally like the book. There is one thing I would of changed in the book, but sorry I will not mention what it is because it could be a spoiler. But hopefully I will see this happen in one of the future books to come.
I received this for an honest review. I have read a few of Ruby Fielding’s work and have always enjoyed each and every one. There was something I wanted in the last book that I got in this book, so I am quite happy how it ended.
What a great way to end the series is to go back to the beginning, with Billy and Jenny. I just love Billy Stewart and Jenny Layne. They are going to go through some challenging times in this story. Jenny gets to feeling something wrong, something that causes her not to want to shift. Could the shot she was given be wearing off? This causes a fight between Billy and Jenny. All Billy wants is his mate to run with him.
Billy goes missing. Jenny and Iain do not know if something has happen to him or if he has just ran away from all the problems. Iain wants Jenny to use her mate bond to find him, but she refuses to shift. Iain is mad and frustrated. He does not understand why she will not help to find the man she loves.
Billy finds himself in a life or death situation. There seems like there is no hope in sight. Could Jonathan Carr really hate him so much to want to kill him? All Billy wants is to help his mate. Time is critical, if someone does not find Billy then it could be to late.
I have always loved Iain and Skye’s story. It has to be hard for these two. No matter how much Skye listens she cannot truly understand. I love the fact that it does not matter to Iain that Skye is human. He love for her is so deep. She is everything he could possibly want in a mate.
This has been truly an amazing story and have loved each and every character, yes even like Johnathan Carr to a certain degree.
