It Comes in it's own dedicated box with artwork, which surrounds the hard slipcover (same front art as the box) which contains the book itself.
The outside of the book features art printed on either side and are both scrumptious. This is printed on the book itself so is like the new format of the Marvel HC's and not like the old, which was plain black with a logo embossed on the front and surrounded by a glossy dust cover which has the art. It has a sewn binding.
The book contains lots of individual Wolverine stories that are presented in Chronological order, charting a portion of his journey through life.
Each of these stories has an introduction by various people involved with the character.
With the book being so large the art and text of the comics are all enlarged to accomadate, thankfully this is printed just as well as if it was the original smaller print.
Reading this in Bed is out of the question due to it's weight, you can sit it on your lap but isn't as comfortable as laying it somewhere flat and reading it like that. Again with the larger artwork you can read this relatively far away which is good.
If you didn't want to read the book itself (why wouldn't you) there is a digital copy of the interior stories for you to read on various devices.
The only bad thing to be said is that the digital copy included is on a leaflet on the first page. With the book being so delicious looking it would've been good to have the code slip in the dedicated box so one can leave the book in it's shrink wrap for collectible purposes.
All in all this is a magnificent book and something i hope is a new format for Marvel.
I'd love to see a Spider-Man Collection cataloguing some of his most iconic stories or a DnA Cosmic Collection charting their run on Cosmic Marvel from 2008-2010 or a Cyclops Collection, which would be excellent as his character has changed the most over the years.
With material from Wolverine: Origin by Paul Jenkins and Adam Kubert, Wolverine: Weapon X by Barry Windsor Smith, Wolverine by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, Wolverine: Not Dead Yet by Warren Ellis and Leinil Francis Yu and Wolverine & The X-Men by Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo. And original material from Mark Miller and Jim Lee.
They've sensibly included a digi copy as this will surely break you elbow joints if you try to hold it open and read it
BEWARE - This is heavy and you can injure yourself if not careful - Pricey, but A must for true fans of Wolverine
