I've only just started playing this, completed most of white haven area, character about level 4, but this game is huge. So many skill areas and magic to level up, using potions to increase weapon attack, it can seem daunting at first and even though I've not played this type of game for years is easy to pick up and you will soon start getting into it.
I've only got a windows 7 desktop with Intel G3258 cpu, 8GB team and an Nvidia 750ti 2gb card and the game plays fine on medium to high settings. Depends how you play these games but I had to buy a controller as didn't like it with the mouse and keyboard.
Witcher 3 is one of my top 10 games of all time and I've been playing games since the 80's with a Spectrum ZX81. If you want a game with plenty of action, magic, rpg, great variety of missions, decent story and a huge area to explore with loads of side quests you won't be disappointed with the Witcher 3.

So, I bought this game again when it was cheap on Amazon for a friend, however I bought it on release for full retail price (£40 in the UK).
I can honestly say this is one of the best £40's I have ever spent, and that is from someone who has barely scratched the surface of this game.
I'm a long time JRPG player, occasionally venturing into Adventure RPG's and have to admit, I was someone who couldn't get into the Witcher 2 of which I had tried several years before, but dismissing it as "too hard". However, due to my enthusiasm for games, I kept a close eye on the production of Witcher 3, as it was shaping up to be everything other games were lacking.
The sheer size and scope of it is world is astounding, without compromising on the graphics which are incredible. The main story, while not overly gripping or fresh (you're basically looking for your daughter, going on to attempt stop the destroyer of worlds), is still enjoyable, although the game in truly shines in its side quests. There's plenty in this game for everyone to do, with the main story clocking up around 50 hours, if you wanted to do side quests too you could quite easily double this.
This is one of the first games I recommend to my friends when they ask for something to play, and takes my GOTY award for 2015 with absolute ease. The two expansions available are also excellent, I will at some point review them separately.
Positives:
World Size
Graphics
Interesting and varied characters
NPC's run at the same speed as your character (FINALLY!)
In-depth lore
Negatives:
I honestly at this time can't say there is any. At first there was a couple of niggles with compatibility on dual core processors, but CD Projekt Red ironed that out in reasonable time.
A quick mention that this code is redeemed on GOG, and you would then have to purchase the expansions through GOG also. I've never had a problem with the GOG client, and all of their games are DRM free which is a bonus.
Thank you for taking the time to read this review, I hope you found it helpful.

The sheer size of this game is totally amazing. . . I have a zillion things on the world map that I just haven't got round to doing yet. I love the fact that you can look out across the world, seeing towers, castles etc in the far distance knowing that you can travel to them and interact....not just there for eye candy.
There are a few niggles but nothing that really interferes with the magic of the game and there are masses of mods available to remove things like the need to repair equipment should you feel the need.
Best game of 2015 and has set the standard for future open world games.

CDPR have shown the world what the "next generation" of AAA gaming should be with The Witcher 3. A truly next generation game engine, a massive world, an expansive story with great characters, great performances by the voice cast, outstanding animation. And now here's 30 hours (minimum) of additional content, all of the same quality and calibre for less than £20. I paid £8.99, it feels almost criminal to pay so little for such a great product, but then I bought the base game on 2 platforms so I feel less guilty.

GOG is a godforsaken site set up by people with an inability to provide an easy to use platform for customers. Go with Steam
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 November 2016Platform: PC Code - GOG.comEdition: StandardVerified Purchase
The game is a lot of fun, but don't buy the GOG code. Get it on Steam. It forces you to download the game in 8 parts, with each update to the game as a separate download. Whereas with a Steam download you could just leave the game downloading and come back to the download after shutting your PC down, this method forces you to keep your PC on for the *entirety* of the download with no breaks. On top of this, I have no idea how the holy hell I'm going to install the DLC when I get them, or whether it's going to force me to buy those on GOG as well. Still might be cheaper and easier just to buy the GOTY edition on Steam rather than buy any more crap off that site. Do yourself a favour: use Steam.

Do not like most of the side stories and don't relate with the main charecter, like i couldn't in the main story. But the feeling of these expansions, with new open worlds to explore and the main plots to delve into, was totally awsome and an experience in itself.
If i could relate with the main characters and some of the minor ones, it would be one of my favourite.

com rather than steam but after you get used to it it's pretty easy to understand

This is downloaded through GOG.com rather than steam but after you get used to it it's pretty easy to understand, although the DLC does seem to have to be downloaded manually.
The game itself is one of the best I've ever played. My PC isn't amazing but managed to play through the game on about medium graphics at roughly 30fps. Regardless the scenery of the game is stunning and by far the most satisfying open world I've ever experienced. In terms of the genre it's leagues ahead of similar medieval games, story rich and a game I would 100% recommend

One of the best games ever realeased. Played over 200 hours on it and will go back for more. Hugely impressive story where your choices actually matter. Side quests are interesting and lots of surprises to be found while exploring.
