Emotionally wrung out!
This is a story like nothing I have read for such a long time, it has most certainly found its way onto my favourites list.
It centres on Lexie a nurse on the oncology ward who goes above and beyond all things rational to keep the kids she cares for happy.
She will stop at nothing to make their dreams come true and if that includes having to put up with the sinful Kaleb then she is prepared to suffer him.
Their first meeting was superb, she really is such a firecracker and no matter the fact that he is a super rock star, and she isn’t prepared to put up with his attitude. Really she gets so p***ed at him, I couldn’t help but smile.
Lexie goes to see Kaleb’s band the Dragon Knights in concert hoping that she might be able to grab a minute of two with him to ask him to meet with one of her patients.
Of course that was never and I do mean never going to go smoothly – it is an unmitigated disaster but what might have started off on the wrong foot, soon saw its way to something more.
Because the rest of the story had me desperately flipping through the pages, eager to find out what was going to happen next.
Kaleb and Lexie had so much in common, they just didn’t know it at first. But when they did , it is a meeting of minds so to speak, and they took my breath away.
But they had a lot of learning to do and a lot adjustments to make and damn did they have a lot of angst directed their way – could they survive it all? And not to mention the doozy of a secret that Kaleb manages to keep from her and the guys… really Kaleb, hang your head in shame!
This was a story that was heart-warming and touching on so many levels. It lightened my spirit and brought hope to the fact that each and every one of us has the opportunity to make a difference.
It brought forward the opportunity to see that no matter how broken your soul may be, you might just be the catalyst to something life changing

What a heart-breaking yet beautiful written book and one I would recommend to anyone. Wishful Thinking takes you on an emotional roller-coaster of a journey and will pull at your heartstrings.

Lexie is a paediatric nurse and loves to make final wishes for her patients. A lot of them are dying and she wants to make their final days as happy as they can be.

When one of the wishes involves her trying to get famous rock star Kaleb Knight to come visit, she finds him arrogant and first impressions cause her to dislike him even more. When they both sit and actually get to know each other a little more, Lexie is shocked to realise he is completely different to what she thought he would be. Will their both open up enough to each other to be able to put both of their tragic pasts behind them and make a happy future together?

An amazing read and one that you need to get started. I am looking forward to reading more amazing books from this author

This is the first book by Gabbie I have read but it certainly wont be the last

Wishful Thinking is the first book in the Dragon Knights series

Wow what a book it was so touching and heartbreakingly beautiful, it had me crying A LOT but also made me laugh... which is always a great thing from a book..

Wishful Thinking is about Lexie and Kaleb

Lexie is an amazing person, she works as a nurse on a children's ward. she is so lovely to the kids and does everything in her power to give the children one awesome wish... and that's how she meets the gorgeous Rockstar Kaleb..

They both have their own problems to deal with both past and present ..

Kaleb your typical sexy Rockstar but when he meets the beautiful Lexie she ROCKS HIS WORLD....

I don't want to give to much away about the story, its best to go in blind to feel all the emotions the book make you feel...

Its a beautifully written, heartbreaking, epic read..

Well Done Gabbie .... on such an amazing book

HASH(0x9ae1cc78) out of 5 stars Emotional read, get some tissue 16 Sept. 2015

I can't even begin to explain the emotions involved in Wishful Thinking. Gabbie was able to make me fall in love with all of the characters. I felt like I was part of their families, all of them. I would be crying while reading one page and laughing on the next, of course some of the tears were happy tears. The way Lexie and Kaleb were brought together was a perfect start to their story. If only there was a Lexie in everyone's life, she's a godsend.

HASH(0x9b355900) out of 5 stars Amazing Story 18 Sept. 2015
By Jamie Zishka - Published on Amazon.com

Wishful Thinking is the first book in the Dragon Night Series. I would give this book a huge sparkling 5 stars! This book had everything you will want in a story believe me. It has the hot bad boy rock star which happens to be a favorite kind of book for me, but it also touches a very sensitive disease that so many suffer from everyday. I was emotionally drained and elated with this whole book. You will need tissues no doubt about it but you will also need a change of panties because Gabbie will heat up the sheets of this book like no other. I will not give away any spoilers with this review but I will tell you if you don't read this book you will not get to see the magic that happens with this story. I have read many books by Gabbie and this one has been one of my favorites of her so far. I will always love Matt and his pancakes and Trey and his bacon from the Unspoken series, Joseph the sexy Marine from With Me, and lets not forget Nick the cocky ball player from Clarity but Caleb and his sexy tattoos and broodiness may have stolen my heart a little more! Gabbie can definitely make some serious book boyfriends.. I think my husband should be concerned (hahahaha). Thanks Gabbie for another fantastic book and I know this can't be the end of this series because there is a whole band to write about! Get to one clicking you don't wanna miss this one!

HASH(0x9e1d31bc) out of 5 stars A Must Read! 21 Sept. 2015
By Amazeballs Book Addicts - Published on Amazon.com

Wishful Thinking is absolutely amazing. I'm a little nervous writing this review because I don't want to give anything away. So if my review is a little vague that's why.

I jumped into reading this one without reading the blurb. I had no idea what the book was about when I began reading it. It's am amazing emotional read.

Lexie lost someone really close to her when she was younger. Now as an adult she is a nurse in the children's cancer wing. She is amazing. She goes above and beyond her nursing duties with her patients. She grants her patients last wish. She isn't with Make a Wish or anything like that, she grants their wishing on her own. She truly gets to know her patients and stay after her work hours to be with them. I really loved Lexie's character.

One of Lexie's patients, Ben, is a huge fan of of Kaleb form the band Dragon Knights. Lexie is determined to get Kaleb to come meet Ben. Kaleb is a sexy rock star. He is not very friendly at first. He is battling his own past and current demons.

Lexie and Kaleb's story is a great one. This is a must read!!!

HASH(0x9ae22dbc) out of 5 stars So many happy and sad moments 16 Sept. 2015
By Keri G - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
What a feel good story. I feel kind of bad saying that due to the nature of this story. There are many sad and heart breaking moments in this book but there are just as many happy ones. The subject matter alone can be scary and sad but there's more to the story than the sadness. There is a man and a woman both needing to put their tragic pasts behind them and make new happy memories. Theres also a wonderful boy in the middle who unintentionally brings them together. They have their battles to get past but once they do there's no denying the connection they have. The quiet wish giver and the ever popular Rock Star lead very different lifestyles and making it work seems to be a bit of a challenge. Then there's a MAJOR roadblock thrown in that unites them. You heard me right. It brings them together instead of destroying them. The ending left me with tears of joy and a big smile on my face.

This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster. The feels are real and you'll remember that every moment in life is just absolutely precious and to never take anything for granted. I've read all of Gabbie S. Duran's books and this one is my absolute favorite. It just hit so close to home and made me really stop and think, while also delivering a beautiful story! Must read!!
