Product description

Product Description

Place the RE200 between your wireless router and wireless devices, expanding Wi-Fi coverage while eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones. Enjoy a seamless wireless network throughout your home or office. The dual bands Wi-Fi up to 750Mbps not only help extend to 2,000 sq.ft. (185 m2), but also make good use of your high ISP speed — ideal for HD video streaming, online gaming and other bandwidth-intensive tasks.

The RE200’s Wireless AC technology create stronger Wi-Fi connections across your home. Work with any standard router or access point, making it convenient to provide wide, non-dropping Dual Band Wi-Fi to multiple devices.

Press the WPS button on your router and RE button on your RE200 within 2 minutes to easily connect to the network. Once connected with an existing router, you can simply relocate the RE200 at any location for the best signal strength.

With an Ethernet port, RE200 can function as a wireless adapter to connect wired devices like desktop, gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, and Internet TVs. At the same time, the device can share the wireless network as well.

    Highly recommended
I have used this in several different configurations and all work well. The web interface is comprehensive and has multiple sections, see photo.I have it sat off the end of a BT hub lan port and it performs better than the built in wifi in the BT hub, which is now disabled.

The router is absolutely fantastic. I've now purchased 2 of them to solve internet and WiFi problems at my place and my dad's and both times it has! Do not pass on this router, I cannot stress how good it is! I've been running for 2 months now and not noticed a single connection drop out or WiFi issue.

I bought it to replace the basic router provided by my ISP. I have a PPPoE fibre optic connection at my property and the router did require a firmware upgrade but once done, it detected and logged onto the connnection automatically.

The router is well made, lots of connections, works fantastically eel with all my home network, further Ethernet hubs and access points around the property.

The admin system has every conceivable feature under the sun even including a virtual server! Port forwarding, bandwidth management, DoS protection, fully customisable DHCP list is all standard as well as 4 possible networks (dual band normal and dual band Guest networks). 2.4 can also be turned off to reduce interference however manually setting channels and frequencies prevents any interference with devices in your home.

Fantastic router worth way more than its price.

Cons - the transmitters would benefit from being a little more powerful or aerial sockets being present to attach high gain aerials.

Item delivered fast and well packaged, set up was easy, fitted on a shelf and as the wires come out the back needs quite a large foot print but hey ho. Has all the functions I was looking for at a good price and easy menu function. Range is a little less than my previous router but I'm not bothered about that as I also have a tp link range extender to cover the garden and our 3 floor house, not helped by the fact that the router is situated in a cupboard under the stairs along with all the other gadget stuff so can't really knock it for that. Overall good

Applying some of the advertised features disable the whole thing.. In my opinion, if you use IT stuff straight 'out-of-the-box' and never change the slightest thing [even though you really are supposed to change router passwords at the very least] then this may work for you. Otherwise, some of the firmware options do not seem to be enabled or work properly.
I wanted this as an AP [Access Point] to extend or 'de-patch' coverage around one house, to augment wf-fi coverage in a perfectly good set-up that just doesn’t cover the nooks especially well.. Not really much to ask for. Couldn’t do it with this.
I would normally disable NAT and set a single subnet mask. [if you don’t know what these are then you might as well ignore this review - the issue will not arise, hopefully] The router is supposed to do this because the firmware toggles are there. I did not get beyond stage 1: once NAT was disabled nothing worked - no network, no internet. I only spent a few hours on this, so there may be a solution which I hadn’t found. Even so you are required to use divergent subnet masks and so on.
If it's important; it might look as if it's wall mountable, it's actually not..

Having read a lot of the reviews, I saw Amazon was selling a few of these as "repackaged items". Based mainly on the excellent price (about £13 each) I bought two and they arrived the next day using Prime. I am planning to use them to deal with a couple of dead spots in my WiFi coverage.
Setting up was a bit fiddly - one of them had a default IP address of 192.168.1.1 and the other 192.168.0.1. But the instructions are all available online, or by following the reviews.
As recommended I set my laptop with a static IP address in the same range, connected laptop and router with an ethernet cable and was able to log into the Web Config pages without too much bother.
Disabled DHCP as I am using them as WAPs, set some passwords and that was about it.
So far very pleased with range and speed. At 5 GHz I measured about 50mbs on my Google tablet via Wifi at close range and not a lot less through a couple of walls.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 June 2016
I bought this router because I was experiencing too much interference on my sky hub 2.4GHz and as it doesn't support 5GHz I decided to give a try on this product.

I connected the sky hub to the router using a network cable going all way through my living room, behind the sofas (I don't need to say my wife hates the blue cable). The router is located in a hall right in the centre of my small 2 bedroom flat, a very square apartment.

My problem is that the signal is very poor, even the router being closer to you the sky hub provides a better signal. I know that 5GHz has a smaller range than 2.4GHz but even comparing the router 2.4GHz vs sky hub 2.4GHz, the latter gives a much better signal. To get a good signal from this router you need to be very close to it, preferable in the same room.

That being said when you're close to the router and are connected to 5GHz you get indeed very good speeds. However that's is not enough to recommend this product, it doesn't fit my purpose. Maybe if you put in a big hall like in an open plain office with no walls you could get most of it.

The solution for my home wifi was to use powerlines and take advantage of my home's mains wiring to spread the internet across its rooms. Having the advantage of no need for additional cables to connect the sky hub to any device far from it and in the rooms with powerline adapter I can plug ethernet cable to hungry internet devices like PS4 and SmartTVs. Absolutely brilliant.
