A 720p HD Wireless IP Camera with built-in DVR, alerts and more.

With its advanced CMOS sensor it can stream H.264, MPEG-4 and M-JPEG video up to 30fps and in 720p High Definition. Record and playback clips via the SD card remotely. At only 150g is one of the lightest IP camera's available today.
It also offers an automatic IR cut filter for true colour daytime video, Infrared night vision up to 15m in pitch dark conditions, motion, PIR and sound trigger sensors, 2 way audio and long range 802.11N WiFi connectivity, giving it better reach than most IP cameras on the market. It's easy to install too, especially with BT Home Hubs and routers from Sky and O2 as well as many others.

Overall very pleased with this purchase - so easy to set up
WHY? The camera is beautifully made with a solid feel and quality fittings - even the bracket is substantial. The technical backup gurus at the suppliers were very attentive using email with quite fast responses.
HOWEVER setting it up to work with my TP-Link Router was an absolute nightmare. The tech support guys who work tried really hard (14 emails back and forth) but were not sure what would work. The information went from 'Do this and that should fix it' to 'It might be the modem supplied by Virgin Media - I actually spent a full 7 hours trying to get it working and I know my way around PC's and networks but I had such an awful experience with the setup that I decided life was too short. I did initially manage to get a picture on my PC easily (both wired and by wifi) The reason I returned the camera was due entirely to the problem in getting video and pictures off site for SMS messaging of a trigger and storage of video events. Yes I did have a DDNS setup and my router is uPnP and yes we ried port forwarding but NO nothing worked. At one stage I was told to swith off the internal firewall which would mean I was open to outside influences by unknown people - Not an option for me at least as I like my security to work properly.
I would say if you just want to view the camera from inside your own network this is a 5* camera - the picture is superb and the camera reliable but if you want to get offsite (like it is advertised for - as being simple) then I suggest that you contact the suppliers first (eyespy247.com)and check if your system will work with it first before ordering. I am quite cheesed off at the time wasted for such a superb bit of kit to not be suitable for my purpose.
When I finally 'pulled the plug' I got a very polite email back from the suppliers. If they bring out a camera which is actually simple to install I will buy one without hesitation. For that reason I feel a 3* score is fair given my experience.
Easy to setup onto a network - cabled or wireless - but as said before in some review, networking knowledge is needed to be able to view remotely. For instance DDNS only allows certain DDNS 'providers' and my current one was not listed. Also knowledge of your broadband router 'port forwarding' is needed.
Well made and looks good.
Video quality good, many options for resolution, framerate etc.
I now have 2 of these cameras, both needed to have firmware upgraded to V1.0.05 else they would 'disconnect' frequently if montoring even via web interface. However, after upgrade this seemed to be fixed but when using the included monitoring s/w (NVR) it still happens. I still see occassions where one or other cameras 'disappear'. Sometimes it can be corrected via a 'restart' from the user interface, other times it either comes back after some time or you need to physically power down the camera. Not sure yet whether this is an issue with 'monitor software' or camera firmware or even wifi at the moment. Though with regard to whether a wifi issue, as they are both close to the router and its the closest one that is most frequent in dissappearing I doubt it.
Setting the motion sensitivity is also a bit of a job , especially without a helper as it seems that 'pir events' appear very regularly if made sensitive enough to register say, a pet, but dont appear at all if ramped to less sensitive. Changes in light levels etc seem to influence it alot. Zones dont seem to help in my circumstance, though the feature itself does work.
Other small issue is that 'privacy' sometimes switches off by itself. Randomly. Would also be good to be able to switch it on/off via web interface.
Other suggested improvement would be to be able to switch the camera off/on completely (maybe by web interface also) and the camera show clearly when it is 'off' without having to pull the power plug... as it can be disconcerting for some visitors if they dont know whether the unit is watching them or not. I feel there should be a seperate 'off' status as well as 'privacy' led. Strangly the colour of the privacy led is green and on when activated... makes it look like that camera is 'on' and active.....in my personal opinion anyway.
All in all a nice product and Eyespy247 seem to be a good group of people who are willing to listen and are interested in getting a quality product out there.
