In line with the other review, its easy to use and connect. Very light and makes a nice cover for the screen, but there are a couple of keys that are mixed up. It would be useful if you could reconfigure these as I'm not sure the keyboard settings are 100% correct. You can live with it, but it becomes a slight annoyance if you start using it for a lot of document work.
What is a real joy, is that you can connect both the keyboard and a bluetooth mouse at the same time, so with a good office type app, then you essentially have a very small and nice looking notebook as well as a tablet.
However I do not think that this product was specifically made for the Galaxy Note 10.1 because of the oversized groove in which the tablet sits.
The disappointing oversized groove is 15mm wide. The Galaxy Note 10.1 at the bottom where it sits in the groove is about 6mm. This means that the tablet slides forward in the groove and is not properly supported by the tiny upstand at the back.
This makes it unstable and means that the keyboard has to be used on a completely flat surface to stop the tablet falling over.
As a temporary measure and experiment I have inserted a few blobs of blutack at the front of the oversized groove to ensure the tablet has greater contact with the upstand on the back. This has definitely helped with the stability but looks really awful.
To conclude it's a great pity about the badly designed oversized groove as this would be an excellent 5* product otherwise. (Reading other reviews it seems that all these keyboards have the same problem so I've decided to keep it as I need it for an upcoming trip.)
+++ Well, it arrived very quickly and very well packed.
- Altough the keyboard package itself was a little bit squeezed.
+++ But everything worked OK: the bluetooth connection was very easy AND very stable.
+ Battery was charged and ready for use.
+ When closed, it provides a good cover for the tablet, altough not very safe as soon as it comes detouched quite easily ...
+/- Quite good feeling
Quite fast (learning as times goes by)
- Typing ... not that easy ...
- No instructions for shortcuts
- mainly there should be some clues for switching languages (I found out by myself: shift+space)
---- The space bar is not easy to hit because it gets blocked by the locker ... Don't know if that could be avoided somehow ....
---- This expensive tablet should dock a little more stable in the basis΄ one has to be very careful in order to keep everything standing upright. I even thought about returning the keyboard because of this ... but decided not to because sending it back from Greece would cost me about 30% of the whole amount of money ... (Not the best returen policy by amazon.uk .... :( )
Ps: please forgive me for my mistakes - my english is not the best (but I'm trying ... :) )
This review was typed on the wireless keyboard we are talking about!
Updating my review makes things much worse ...
The letters on the keyboard are vanishing as shown in the pictures uploaded ... and this happens after a month ... and I didn't use it very hard at all ...
Bad choice - DON'T BUY!!
If it every gets available again .... should have bought the samsung original from the beginning ...
Its very light but still quite a sturdy keyboard. Takes a while to charge about 4 to 5 hours.
Simple to set up and use. My only problem is my tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 not a galaxy note 10.1 and I made the mistake when ordering and later of thinking it would fit. It doesn't which is a pity....When the tablet is in place it would be a good idea to be able to lock it into the keyboard so it can not be knocked out of the recess.I will still use it and maybe the wife might get the Samsung Note....then I will pass it on.
For the money a real bargain.IVSO® Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 N8010 Slim-Fit Folio Cover Case With Multi-Angle Stand (Black)
But on the negative side, the keyboard is just a touch too small for my less than delicate fingers and I keep pressing the wrong key - not a problem if you don't touch type, but I do. The main hassle is the position of the arrow keys just where I would expect to find the shift key on my right hand (which is irritating because I touch type but not the worst obstacle in the world.
The main criticism, no lights on the keyboard to indicate is connected - it would help to know how much power you are using - bluetooth really doesn't allow that! I thought I had charged the keyboard subsequent to purchase . . . then realised that I was wrong as I hadn't plugged in the extension lead!
Easy to set up and use. A bit flimsy and light - yes (although don't forget that as it is also a case it needs to be light and to allow flexibility. Sorry, one more slight gripe . . . the case touches the On/Off button which causes slight annoyance when the unit wants to power down.
Nevertheless it is excellent value and it does what it is intended - protects when acting as a case and types when you want it to type!
