Getting 4 stars instead of 5 only because there were no instructions and I had to get them off the web. If you get one of these to use with android, start the unit up by holding down X then pressing down the HOME button until the SEARCH light starts blinking. Then you can release both buttons, go to your tablet's Bluetooth settings, make it discoverable and payout them up. It should then just work for most games e.g. Minecraft PE. It seems you hold down a different button on startup to use the controller in different modes but the instructions are sketchy at best once you find them on the net.

Other than that this is a really great unit and is well made. Grips a10 inch tablet and a 5 inch phone no problems. Controls are well laid out and have a good sold fell to them. Battery life is excellent and you can keep it topped up with USB. Just to clarify, you can't use this connected via USB, only Bluetooth.

Doesn't seem to work with Windows phone but I'm not massively surprised and certainly not marking it down for that. Better instructions would male this hard to fault.

This controller works but does have a few flaws for example only some apps work with the controller not all controller compatible apps (unless I need to change the mode setting) but apart from that I have 4 apps that work really well with it, the PS1 and PSP emulators work perfectly with this controller as the buttons are already mapped out correctly and is easily changeable, and the 2 game apps (wolfinstien and dead trigger 2) both work perfectly with customisable controls. I used this with my Galaxy Note 3 which has bluetooth 3.0, It does work with IOS for 1 app which is Icade but if you want anything else to work it needs jailbroken, Overall good for android but only get for ipad or iphone if its jailbroken

This device works. It is annoying to see negative reviews of it because Application developers or companies such as Apple can't or won't provide a suitable interface.
As others have said check the web to find out if this device will work with a specific game.
Unfortunately it will not work with Galaxy on Fire 2.
It will work very well with Vendetta on line and the game has software on board that allows remapping of the keys to the game controller from within the game options. My tablet is a 10.1 inch and there is still a little room left, so maybe the manufacturer is being conservative at 10 inches.
The tablet is held securely and the same is true of my smaller tablets. It has a nice strong feel and is well made. I'd have put the charging cable in a different place but other than that and the rather poor instructions for making a Bluetooth connection it is really good.
These are my own notes on setting it up and I hope they may be of help :-

On the joystick locate the button labeled "home". It the middle of the
three silver buttons at the bottom of the left joystick pod.

On the joystick locate the "X" button which is the leftmost of the four red
buttons labeled A, B, X, Y. on the right joy stick pod. Modes A,B,X,Y cause
the joystick to be interpreted differently by the tablet and each can be
tried in turn to get the best result.
The modes in the manual are:-
X only Android 3.2 and above support this mode. This is gamepad mode but
the keyboard keys on the joystick will still be detected and can be mapped
in some applications.
A in this mode only the keyboard is selected and using the joystick
produces odd results. This is keyboard mode.
B before pairing in this mode the default keyboard in settings to
English.? American or UK?.
This is ICad mode.
Y has two modes of operation. SSP mode and Mouse function.
After pairing the joystick is in SSP mode to toggle to Mouse Function press
"Y" then home together with the "Y" first and the joystick connected and on.
In mouse mode the right joystick moves the mouse on the screen and joystick
button "L1" is used to confirm and "R1" is used as return.
"L1" is the button or trigger on the left pod.
"R1" is the button or trigger on the right pod.

The home button is held down on its own to switch the joystick on and off.
It is also used with the A,B,X,Y buttons to select the mode and pair in
that mode.
Once paired in the Y mode it also is used with the Y button to toggle in ad
out of mouse mode.

Setting up using mode "X" for the 10.1 voyo tablet.
Turn on Bluetooth on the tablet, scan for new devices.
If the joystick was already paired and you wish to do it again you must
first select it and unpair it.
(After this it is a good idea to turn Bluetooth off and back on to start
fresh).

After three hours trying to get it to pair with a samsung Galaxy S5 I gave up, I assume it is faulty. First I tried following the poor instructions that came with it, but gave up on them as well and headed online and found some better ones, after following these many, many times and resetting the damned device numerous times as well as restarting my phone a few times also, I discovered the following, you can use this device in different modes depending on which of the XYAB buttons you press followed by the home key, the only mode I was interested in was the game controller mode as I bought this to fly my parrot bebop drone(which it is allegedly capable of). To activate this mode you press the X key followed by the home key. Now when I press any of the other key sequences the flashing LED speeds up and my phone finds and successfully pairs with it as a mouse or whatever the other modes are, however pressing the X key and home, the flashing LED doesnt speed up and the phone picks up some unspecified device it can't pair with.

I contacted the seller and they asked me to return it for a refund, when I asked about refunding the return carriage they agreed they would if it was discovered to be faulty, there was no specific return instructions given, this was all I was told. Since that I'm not 100% certain it is faulty and it was such a cheap device I decided to cut my losses, bin it, mark it down to experience and do what I should have done in the first place and ordered a Mad Catz C.T.R.L.R, it arrived today and within five minutes was paired to my phone and controlling my drone, you get what you pay for, and OK it may be a faulty device and therefore an unfair review, but you can only review what you get
