This book was written by a friends wife and to be honest that is the only reason I brought this. Given the current trend in Vampire novels I would never have picked this up.

Thankfully the author knows that vampires are monsters and Julian Winter is a brilliantly callous villain.

The book is well written and both main characters are well developed. Supporting characters were a little lacking but hopefully they can be expanded on in later books. Story was easy to follow if slightly predictable in places but still kept me entertained for a few days.

Looking forward to the next book.

I found myself feeling for Julian even though he is portrayed early on as an evil heartless killer. The story unravels at a natural pace and is well thought out and leads nicely into the next book.

HASH(0x9338be10) out of 5 stars five stars for a genuinely scary hero 12 Oct. 2013
By HappyBookWorm - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I thought this book was well written, beautifully plotted (with one exception), and had really interesting and believable characters. I think that this book is one of the few that will improve with each re-read, it is that good. I have bought the author's other two books.

The hero was cold and truly amoral. I think the book was well named - he really had no warmth, no caring in him. His housekeeper gave me the creeps for her acceptance of her employer's actions, even while I liked her as a person. I really liked the heroine both as a child and as an adult (except while she was in Ireland). I think the author has created two fully fleshed out characters who could walk off the pages of the book.

If I didn't love everything else so much, I'd subtract one star for everything that happened in Ireland, where the heroine did some remarkably foolish things and behaved out of character several times. Fortunately, this was a small part of the book and once they are back in the states, she becomes believable again.

HASH(0x92e0a690) out of 5 stars Gripping and Engaging Love Story 11 Sept. 2013
By Xunaira - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
A well-constructed plot with the right kinds of twists and turns, Winter's Touch had me gripped and captivated from the first page. As the story unfolded from the childhood of Evangeline Spencer who has a rather peculiar neighbour, the little girl wins our hearts with her inquisitive nature and innocence. The author's insight and imagination has been well described and the story flows beautifully from her childhood to her being an adult.
Julian Winters is a vampire, who has shut off all his so-called human feelings, emotions and sentiments. As a self-sufficient person, he has taken up residence in Nebraska right beside the house where Eva lives and comes in contact with him. Soon, he finds out that a mere accident with her kissing his blood had created a connection between then, he makes her witness the cruel of act of hunting on his part. Over the years, Evangeline experiences nightmare that are not really nightmares but the reality that is associated with Julian. As a young woman of twenty, she is abducted by the same person whom she had believed to be her friend and now her captor. As the series of events pass by, Evangeline tries hard to break through the feelings that are long gone for Julian.
This tale of love, loss, feelings, emotions and above all, friendship is one of the best in it's genre. The author has done a pretty good job of portraying the scenario and narrating the story as she best wanted it. Although, the chemistry between Julian and Eva could have been more than what she represented, this is a book worth reading.
I, myself, enjoyed reading and am of the opinion that this could go further. Good Luck for the author for I believe her to have mettle enough to improve the story.

HASH(0x9332d504) out of 5 stars A different vampire story 16 Sept. 2013

I don't usually write reviews but I enjoyed this book a lot. It has a different spin on a source of a vampire and I found it refreshing. The relationship between Eva and Julian was different as well. Good job, Allie Gail. Now off to read book two

HASH(0x93228408) out of 5 stars Fell in love with Julian myself! 9 Nov. 2013
By Michelle C. Jordan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I received a complimentary copy of Winter's Touch, but this does not affect my honest review!

I will forgo the normal recap, and go straight to my thoughts on the read. First the entire time reading, I had this image of Julian in my head, whether it was the image the author intended I am not sure…but it was in my mind for this character the entire time!

Jamie Campbell Bower

I had recently seen Mortal Instruments (movie) and so this actor was fresh in my mind…,lol that being said, for my to take the time to locate a picture, this shows how much, I loved the characters in Winter’s Touch!!… Julian and Eva were so wonderful together:O) I enjoyed the dialogue and the interaction between them. Winter’s Touch was very well written, a wonderful pace and flow, no lag tag. I enjoyed the seeing the growth and the evolution of Julian. How the author showed him going from a creature of habit, firmly rooted in his beliefs and then comes Eva and turns everything upside down!

I loved the scenes of five year old Eva and Julian, the moment when he first encountered the young woman who will grow up to change his existence. The scenes were so very funny how the spunky child was able to wrap vampire Julian around her little finger…

There was humor laced throughout the book…I actually was laughing out loud at parts….also the author incorporated the perfect balance of adventure, sprinkled with twist and turns and searing romance.

This was really a great read, and I have become a true fan of Ms. Gail’s works:O)

I fully recommend for anyone that is a fan of Paranormal Romance, and Mystery! (Best for Older Teens and Adults)

HASH(0x92e0b210) out of 5 stars Enjoyed This 19 May 2015
By JessLyn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I really liked how this book began when the female main character was a young child. An innocent gesture of a very curious little girl causes a blood bond to be formed between herself and a vampire who lives next door. Everyone he kills while feeding she has a nightmare about the act. The vampire feels the little girl'suick girl's knowledge of his true nature is threat to him but can't seem to make himself 'ttake care of the problem'. Years later he kidnaps her and curiosity turns to budding romance. The vampire is soon feeling emotions he thought had died the night he became a vampire. This was quick read consisting of around 100 pages. I liked the charaters and felt they worked well together. NOT A CLIFFHANGER (Yes there is a second in the series but the story doesn't just stop and require you to read the next book to know what happened with the main couple). I am curious to see where the next story takes us.
