Product Description

About the Author

A.A. Milne A.A. Milne is quite simply one of the most famous children’s authors of all time. He created Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo based on the real nursery toys played with by his son, Christopher Robin. And those characters not only became the stars of his classic children’s books, Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner, and his poetry for children, they have also been adapted for film, TV and the stage. Through his writings for Punch magazine, A.A. Milne met E.H. Shepard. Shepard went on to draw the original illustrations to accompany Milne’s classics, earning him the name “the man who drew Pooh”.

This was bought as a Christmas present for a little girl who will be two years old in February. The parents really loved it and their daughter was immediately captivated by it. Unlike most books, which count up the way, this book counts down from ten to one, so it develops more advanced counting skills in a fun way. It is a clever, tactile book, as the ten bees are on raised "buttons", which protrude through holes that run through the entire book. As each bee disappears and leaves a hole as each page is turned, little fingers cannot resist touching the bees and pushing fingers into the holes. Another great plus is the sturdy board pages - so much better than flimsy paper, which is liable to crumple and tear in the hands of very young ones. It is a great Winnie-the-Pooh story and good value for money. Overall I am delighted with this book and the response it got from both the child and her parents. A little gem!

Excellent book for an 18 month old that loves Winnie the Pooh, loves number and loves to count! My son likes to read the number on the corner of each page before I ready the writing. He also loves to name the characters as I point them out. Enjoyable and makes for very good interactive reading. Highly recommend!

I know this book from when my niece was a baby, so I bought it for my infant son. We all love it and it's the last book he is read before bed every night. Great illustrations (non-American, for the Pooh-purists) and a lovely gently rhyme. Cracking bed-time book for kids.

A fab rhyming book involving the Pooh characters and with little plastic bee buttons that stick up from the page. My 7 month old loves touching the bees so I hope he'll love counting them when he's older. My only disappointment is that the glue holding the thick pages together (and the bees inside) is not strong enough. The pages are starting to separate near the binding. Otherwise recommend this book.

Lovely book, bought as a first Christmas present for my daughter, although she is only young, she loves the repetition of the sounds in the book and making the counting into a game. It's a really nice book to sue for years to come.

Fun board book with prominent bee buttons.Grandson loves running his hand over the bees as I read to him and enjoys the simple rhyme and countdown with Winnie-the-Pooh. He's 2 now and it's still popular

The bees reduce in number and increase in height from the page as the very pleasant rhyming book goes on. My 7 month old loves feeling the bees especially as they get bigger - he's always disappointed when there are none left by the last page. Also the thicker than paper but thinner that a board book pages are shiney and the dribble just wipes off.
