I bought this book and read it in two days. When I ought to have been doing other things. When the ironing was piling up and the phone was ringing, unanswered. When I should have been working towards a looming deadline. You will have gathered-I loved it! It was by turns witty, funny and poignant. The authors humour shines through and it is written in beautifully judged bite-size chapters so that when time was limited, I could break off at a convenient point...never for very long. This is a page-turner. I really, really liked Sarah Winner. I cared about her. And I wanted her to triumph. Did she? Read it yourself and see. You will love this book from a relatively new and talented writer. More please!

A really funny, witty read. Just loved the main character, Sarah Winner - feisty and smart, yet with the same foibles as the rest of us.

I dipped into this book having recently started another - and just had to carry on until the end. Nice bite-size chapters so you can read one or two when you've got a minute (or lots, as the case often was - this book was responsible for lots of late nights recently - couldn't resist 'just reading another chapter'!)

Congrats to the author - really enjoyed it.

I don't see how anyone could resist Tricia Mc Bride's character Sarah Winner. She's hopeless with men, addicted to self-help books and if there's mud (or worse) to fall in, she'll fall in it; but she's feisty and funny and irrepressible too. This adventure sees her on the trail of a good-looking wrong'un of the slimiest bigamist type, aided by her boy-flirty intern, her crazy Thai kick-boxing step-mother, her scarily back-on-the-dating-scene Mum and and about two hundred boxes of tech gadgetry that turned up unexpectedly. It's a whirlwind of action and giggles. There are touches of Miranda about Sarah Winner, but with a detective streak added. It worked perfectly for me as a bit of winter escapism. I hope to see more of Sarah.

I loved this book - it is a light enjoyable read, had me staying up later than planned as I kept turning to read "just one more chapter". Witty, with likeable main characters that you care about, a pacey series of adventures and wry observations about life that I think most women will identify with. Ideal for holiday/travel/bedtime reading.

I downloaded this book because I enjoy Janet Evanovich's books and the cover said it was in a similar style. I was not disappointed. The main character, Sarah Winner,is a warm, impulsive women who, while looking for her ideal man, finds the wrong one. All sorts of adventures follow as she initially tries to get revenge, then tries to stay out of his evil clutches.
I particularly enjoyed Sarah's crazy Thai step-mother, a great character. You'd want to stay on the right side of her to stay in one piece. You'd want her cooking, though.

The author writes a fast paced, funny story that had me chuckling out loud regularly.

Sarah Winner is looking for love online. When a date goes badly wrong she decides to use her professional sleuthing skills to get revenge. Little does she know what she is getting into.

Luckily Sarah is up to the challenge. She is attractive, shrewd, and compassionate. Her ability to bounce back from setbacks and laugh at herself (she is a bit accident prone) make her a thoroughly likeable heroine.

Yes – this novel is a definitely a winner!
