Product description

About the Author

I started my first novel 18 years ago shortly after I met the woman who would soon become my wife. We spent the first months of our courtship writing and getting to know each other. The book was shelved back then, but we did fall in love and were married. Years later I pulled the manuscript out of a box and was still intrigued by the story. I spent 12 months writing, polishing, writing and polishing and have now fallen completely in love with the whole process of writing. Wings To Redemption is now done, and if you’re a reader who likes romance with your suspense, you’ll love this story. I am a deeply passionate and energetic individual who loves anything outdoors. I am now spending my time nestled in the Redwoods next to the Pacific Ocean working on the second book in the Alex Boudreau Adventure Series. Life couldn't be better! www.PaulHLandes.com

Alex Boudreau is highly trained and skilled in the art of espionage. When Alex is called out of retirement to be an operative in one last heist of information, the job proves to be not just emotionally challenging but morally imposing too. The personal repercussions of stumbling over classified genetic research that could lead to genocide is beyond anything Alex could imagine. Alone the hunt begins again, but this time the stakes are higher.

I was absolutely taken unawares by this very enthralling, well-researched hi-, bio- techno-thriller. I have read a few techno-thrillers in my time but not one that excels in everything from the science, IT to the characterisations and romance too. The title of this book lulled me into a sense of false security as what followed had me hooked. Revealing the plot an inch at a time but keeping the twists and turns coming instinctively, this thriller could not be better crafted. To me this book defines how to write a techno-thriller with attention to detail and instant captivation to the plot.

I was fully engaged in the plight of Alex Boudreaux and preoccupied with just how the book would end, it ends on a cliff-hanger, but with just enough tantalising information to make you want to read more. I have to read the next one soon! This is one of the best well-executed techno-thrillers I have read to date and an absolute must-read for techno-thriller fans.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story- So so writing 24 Jan. 2013

I like the lead character. Alex Boudreau is an interesting creation. Industrial espionage is a new wrinkle in the action/adventure genre for me.

Where the writers lose me is the silly, sloppy, syrupy dialogue between Alex and Ben as they fall in love. Its honestly revolting and is a compilation of the worst of 'Bridges of Madison county', 'Horse whisperer', 'Night's in Rodanthe' type dreck that pre-teen girls devour by the ton. It will make you barf if you are over 14.

The sad thing is they've written a pretty good book about a monstrous high tech bio-weapon that has the potential to wipe out whole races. Wow! Could we possibly hear more about this? I mean seriously, could we possibly leave the Harlequin Romance behind and focus on an interesting, and compelling storyline? Puh-leeze!

There is intrigue, violence, backstabbing galore; all of which works pretty well.

Finally, they end the book on a cliff-hanger. WIll Alex finally be reunited with Ben????? Tune in next week and find out!!!! Give me a break.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Creative Story 19 Nov. 2014

I enjoyed this book very much.
I found the plot and characters to be unique and interesting.
My only complaint is that this is a 'series', and the end of the book leaves much of the story unfinished.
It does have a closing event that was meaningful. But the story is far from over.
The writing is good enough that I may buy and read the next book.
But I would much rather read complete books and not be left hanging.
Mr. Landes, you are a very good author. And the book is well edited, with very few mistakes.
When I find an author I really like, I buy all of their books.
Please consider writing stand alone books in a series. Then I, and many others, will read them all.
Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well written and fast paced ride 27 Nov. 2012

The authors have done a great job creating a compelling story with interesting characters. It was a page turner for me with plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting. It's a great mix of mystery with romance, so it would appeal to a broad audience. Living in the SF Bay Area, I enjoyed the parts of stories that were set there, as it brings the story to life even that much more for me. The main character in this book has a lot more to tell, so I am looking forward to the sequel. Well done and kudos!

5.0 out of 5 stars Who is Alex Boudreau? 27 Jan. 2013
By Jeffrey Harris - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Alex Boudreau is a brilliant, tough, high-tech industrial spy. Alex Boudreau is conniving and vulnerable.

The chase twists and turns its way from Sydney to Paris to San Francisco, to an isolated jungle outpost in Brazil, to Washington DC. What is at risk? It's huge.

Author Paul Landes takes us on a high-tech who-dunnit adventure populated with memorable characters, played out in extraordinary scenery.

At least one other adventure is forthcoming. You will want to get in on the ground floor by reading this one.
5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful first novel 5 Nov. 2012

All those notions and phrases that dot reviews -- gripping, page turner (well, i was on a kindle) and the like actually seem well deserved here. The characters are thoughtfully realized in a compelling adventure that reinvents a classic form in a contemporary world of incredible jeopardy. If you enjoy tales of suspense, drama and action, and like to know the world is just a bit more secure because of people like Alex Boudreau, chooseyour format and buy this book.
