This comprehensive book is the most up-to-date, indepth guide to the sought-after wines of Burgundy, written and revised by two well-respected authorities on this region. An introductory section examines Burgundy's history and geography, as well as wine-growing, winemaking techniques, and the classification system. Vintage reports are also included. The second section details Burgundy's key wine regions and the most prestigious properties, as well as the lesser-known names worth seeking out. The final section is a concise A-Z listing of over 600 producers and their wines.

Make sure you get the 2005 edition as it has the latest vintage notes.
I recommend it a sort of "pocket" reference book. I would certainly take it along with me on a visit to Burgundy but it would NOT be helpful in planning an "in depth" tour of Burgundy before hand.
