HASH(0x916c630c) out of 5 stars I LOVE this book 5 April 2013
By Janie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I love wine, although know very little about it, but LOVE this book. It is clearly written by erudite and entertaining experts, making every page a joy. It is not only a fascinating insight into this little known element of the wine trade, but peppered with interesting facts and anecdotes. The price is a steal for such a brilliant work. I have not only bought a copy for myself, my father and my father but also for a couple of writer friends as I know they will appreciate the hard work and craft that has gone into it. And the cover is beautiful. I really recommend you buy a copy.

HASH(0x91c61534) out of 5 stars Reads well for the novice and gives great info for the collector 1 April 2013
By BentheWineBerg - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
There are at least two types of readers for this book: those who collect stellar, often expensive wines and those who don't. For the first category, a step-by-step guide to spotting fakes and forgeries is essential knowledge. For the second, the stories that these veteran authors tell about the burgeoning market in illegitimate wines are a great read. Download this short, easty-to-peruse ebook and enjoy the ride.
HASH(0x9253d00c) out of 5 stars The ingenuity of human malevolence! 29 Jun. 2013
By Vladimir E. Alexandrov - Published on Amazon.com

This is a very entertaining and informative excursion into a world about which I knew next to nothing--fake and forged wines. In addition to opening my eyes to the perils of chasing after, and collecting, rare and famous wines (a purely abstract pursuit in my case), it confirms me in my loyalty to good, modestly priced, table wines. This little book is also a kind of paean to the endless ingenuity of thieves and scammers. The parallels with, and differences from, art forgery are fascinating.
HASH(0x92538fe4) out of 5 stars a good synopsis 15 Jun. 2015

A short, easy read, but since no topic is fully developed, unless you have already read many books on wine forgery, it is pretty much Readers Digest quality. Having said that, if you have never read anything on fake or forged wines, and you are titillated, this will whet your appetite. Billionaires Vinegar, the Hardy Rodenstock story is a much more satisfying read.
HASH(0x91842eb8) out of 5 stars okay read 13 Jun. 2014

It was an interesting, but not deep read. It is a nice fill in book to understand more of what happens when wine is not for drinking, but for status collecting.
