I had intended to comment on this book when I received it a couple of weeks ago, and the comment from the previous chap is definitely valid. I'm in no doubt as to the Portuguese (?) writers credentials, with a very impressive career past, but why couldn't someone have taken his words and 'translated' them from his broken English to proper spoken word? Far from intending to insult the chap, it's quite embarrassing to struggle to read the text.

I'm also confused as to why it's necessary to refer the reader to the colour version of each screenshot on the website UNDER EVERY SINGLE SCREENSHOT. Surely a single mention in the introduction would suffice.

Anyway, small beans, having got through the first couple of chapters, it's looking like a good book, and no-one could really argue with Tom Shinder's credentials.

1.0 out of 5 stars I had great hopes 19 Feb. 2014
By Strictify - Published on Amazon.com

I had great hopes for this $65 book to be the go-to security book for Server 2012. This was a joke - not that much actually covered Server 2012 itself or how to secure it. The book was bush league and full of typos, glitches, etc. I wouldn't trust it.

I have some of Schinder's other books on ISA that were much better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Reviewer needed 12 Nov. 2013
By Chris Freels - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
While the information may be factually correct, I simply could not get past the poor writing and lack of editorial review.

If one is going to write a book and expect people to pay for it, then review what is written to ensure it reads well and the correct words are used for the correct expression. I read the first two chapters and and had to stop, it was unreadable.

Thank you Amazon for refunding my money.
