From the Back Cover
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Me Before You, the basis for the major motion picture, comes a breathtaking drama of two women whose lives entwine through a lovely English seaside house
For Lottie Swift, Arcadia has always been magical. The breathtaking art deco house perched above the shoreline of the well-ordered village of Merham seems to stand still throughout the years. It has never changed, not really, but Lottie s fate and fortune have been inextricably linked with that of the beautiful house, and it will forever be fixed in her mind as a symbol of adventure, youth, and of loves lost and gained. Even as her life and the house fall into disrepair.
Years later another young woman comes to Merham. A designer hired to make over the now-empty Arcadia, Daisy Parsons seeks a new beginning, as Lottie once did. Fleeing a broken relationship and now facing being a single mother, Daisy finds refuge in the house, and something more a love she thought she would never know again and a friendship unlike any she s experienced before." --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. Set in the charming seaside town of Merham in the 1950's, locals Lottie and Cecilia are captivated when a group of bohemian artists move into the neighbourhood and immediately befriend the vivacious newcomers. What soon unfolds is a chain of events that is still having an impact on the town and its people five decades later...
A fabulous book with vivid descriptions and two intertwining plots that are very neatly depicted. This book has a bit of everything: romance, intrigue and scandal, and I really enjoyed it. The writing is so richly detailed you can truly imagine yourself at the heart of this story and feel yourself rooting for the characters. Highly recommended!
A interesting story which unfolded carefully, linking 2 eras and stories which meet as the story develops.
Another good read!

Well developed characters and a twist at the end. It was easy to picture Arcadia both in its heyday and as it is modernised. This is a good holiday read.Published 1 month ago by LInda Taylor
