Unfortunately this series was cut at the end of this 5th season without closeout. It was most disappointing as we were engrossed with the story and the characters. Recommend the entire series to everyone but be aware of end.

Wonderful series. It is great for the whole family. We watch them over and over again. Sullivan is a wonderful film maker. I wish the series had continued as it left off where so many things could have happened. To bad it was canceled

I couldn't wait to watch each episode. I really loved this whole series. It was like going back to my childhood. I wish they still made shows like these. They were so enjoyable. My whole family looked forward to watching every one of these. This is great, relaxing entertainment.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE of Disc Case 2 Oct. 2008

I rate the series FIVE Star. Excellent production for all the family. Series 3, 4, and 5 are long overdue, but well worth the wait, the dvd transfer is top rate.
However, I rate the disc case ONE star. Open carefully, all the discs will be loose. The package design seems good, but obviously a machine (or person) did not load it properly, as the discs were not locked in as the design provided. Perhaps this is why Amazon's stock disappeared???

8."Enter Eddie Jackson": When Fat loses at chess, he goes to Eddie Jackson for advice. Eddie becomes his coach. Meanwhile, a young man, who is trying out for the olympics, visits New Bedford.

9."The Summer Plague": When a plague threatens to destroy New Bedford, citizens become concerned whether or not the plague might take over their town. Max has to decide whether or not to cancel the annual summer fishing tournament.

10."Reconciliation": When a worker at the mine causes bickering among his fellow workers, it causes much stress for the Bailey family. The worker takes a liking to Laura.

11."Crack in the Mirror": When the Masked Rider visits New Bedford, his true colors show. Jim Flett has to pretend to be the Masked Rider at one point. Grace finds out a dark secret about Van.

12."Secrets and Lies": Grace talks to Van about his dark secret, and this causes much pain in their marriage. Toppy has a secret of her own.

13."Pay Back": Grace and Van's marriage is crumbling. Max has a serious talk with Hub about his future. Van joins the army.

This season's stories have more of a laid back feel, but there will come a time in this season for pain, heartache, and suffering.

Wind at My Back is a wonderful series, family viewing and well done.
I ordered the first two seasons from Netflix, and then bought the 3rd, 4th and 5th seasons from Amazon, as Netflix would not provide any more than the first two seasons. I will share these with friends, wonderful series, and for the entire family to view.
