From the Author
Unable to comment in detail, I offer forth some reviews.
Its difficult for me to say much about Will You Hold Me?, so Ill begin with choice quotes from some of the reviews.
The deeper Kenworthys personal vision insinuates itself into your psyche, the more exhilarated you are by his alternately sinuous and jagged prose, with its intoxicating chemistry of character and ideas. TIME OUT
Kenworthy is a writer of mood pieces, but his principal strength is in the character study. His observation of the all-too-human is extremely good. An elegant and perceptive collection. - INTERZONE
He can certainly write, capturing in these literary snapshots a depth of character that many authors struggle to even hint at. - SFX
Christopher Kenworthy portrays a world where a bizarre and covert war consumes everyday life, between the self and desire, expectations and reality. These stories unfold a bizarre world of fascinating characters who keep us guessing. - RAIN TAXI REVIEW OF BOOKS
His elliptical, disturbing stories focus on human relationships and guarantee a palpable sense of unease every time. More than just the new Iain Banks. - FOCUS
My first novel THE WINTER INSIDE will be published by Serpents Tail in Spring 2000. My second, PILOTAGE, will follow a year later, although the story version can be read in WILL YOU HOLD ME? A third novel, THE WISHBONE BAG, is in progress, and an excerpt was recorded for the Time Out New Writing CD in April 1999.
My stories have appeared in INTERZONE, THE THIRD ALTERNATIVE, THE TIME OUT BOOK OF PARIS STORIES (Penguin), NEONLIT (Quartet), THE AGONY & THE ECSTASY (Sceptre), THE EX-FILES (Quartet), A BOOK OF TWO HALVES (Gollancz), THE TIGER GARDEN (Serpents Tail), YEARS BEST HORROR (DAW Books), the EVENT HORIZON web site and many others. I was recently nominated for the BRITISH FANTASY AWARD for BEST SHORT STORY of 1998.
Born in Preston, England in 1968, I have lived all over the UK, but spent most of the last three years in Western Australia.
