Format: Paperback
This book as all the simpilicty but weight of the One Minute Manager series - it is all the more powerful for its non academic approach to analysing and understanding where you are as a leader. It clearerly marks the break point between manager and leader and gives a structure to provide an action plan for going forward. There are no simple "consultant" solutions but pointers along a path.
I have found it very useful in looking at where I am and found many reasons as to why I am not fulfilling my own potential, but the book gives me faith.
The analysis tool offered within the book is invaluable and provides detailed feedback from those you lead (or do not!!)

Mark Starmer's book is a vital read for anyone wishing to succeed - but struggling to do so.
A dramatic and sudden realisation begins to dawn on one when reading "Will the Real Leader Please Stand Up?" -you almost certainly are a leader already. Mark Starmer's book is a glorious and dynamic insight into what a real leader is and does - and hey, it's ok to be one - it's what your skills are geared for - don't hide your light under a bushell - get out there and use those gifts.

Like so many of us I have struggled in my efforts to develop as a leader. I have worked through the Handy's and the Harvey Jones's, and have still felt confused by the issue. This book provides the clearest and most practical guidance to personal development that I have ever come across. It breaks down the relevant skills into understandable bite sized chunks and gives a course of action for each. I now feel that I am armed with not only the understanding of what leadership is and how to do it, but also with the personal commitment. This is a book to come back to again and again.
