As the PS4 has USB 3.0 I am hoping they will accept external hard drive as I am happy to partition my hard drive and give 1tb for my PS4.

the hdd is user changeable, i am thinking of buying a 2tb hardrive and just placing it in on day one, so i dont ever have to worry about it again

Conor I'm pretty sure that the maximum the PS4 can handle is 1.5TB, so you are wasting money on a 2TB as the PS4 would only be able to use 3/4 of it. Also if changing HDD make sure its not too high, as some of the larger TB drives are too big to fit into the PS4.

No the PS4 does not currently support external hardrives. It might be added in a firmware update though.

yeah PS3 needed 9.5mm height drives. (they also come in 12.5mm height) so make sure you buy the right physical size.

Yes but your talking about internal drives now and the post is specifically about external drives.

MrMatt says:
That's as maybe but advice about changing your internal hdd is more useful when an external drive will not work at present.

Yes but you didn't specify that, which may have been confusing to some hence I replied to your comment to make it clear.
