This album just blew me away - I am NOT a pop music fan - my favourite groups are Procol Harum and Yes - but I did buy this because the final track is "Ready to Go Home" latterly recorded by prog-heads "Asia" on their great "Aura" album and I was simply intrigued to hear the original on Morten's album. What an amazing surprise. I was astounded at how good this album is, a really dark and introspective piece of work. The album peaks at Track 6 and gets better and better. And extremely classy production by Christopher Neil, listen to the quality of the piano (always a test) on the beautiful "lay me Down tonight". What a special album and such a surprise for me...

A couple of the tracks take a bit of getting used to ( lord, east timor etc.) but generally an amazing album. The harmonisation and equal vocal balance of the 'Los Angeles' chorus is just superb. Buy it!

I have always liked the music of a-ha but did not realise this album existed until 2 weeks ago.
A cracking album, worth buying just for 'Los Angeles'.

This album is an absolute gem. Having been a fan of A-ha since they burst onto the music scene in 1985, I was extremely curious to see what sort of music Morten Harket would produce without the strong song-writing talents of Paul Waaktaar-Savoy and Magne Furuhomen. I was not disappointed and more than a little surprised. 'Wild Seed' is one of the few albums around which instantly impresses with the quality of its music. Anyone expecting a throw back to 1980s pop will not get what they are looking for. However, if you are in search of an album chock full of original, meaningful lyrics and simple yet incredibly strong melodies, this is the one for you. At times reminiscent of Peter Gabriel's material, the album deserved more commercial success than it had. Harket can interpret songs like very few others and can give the simplest song a breath-taking edge with his talent for timing. With this CD, Harket has shown that he is much more than just a great voice. He is a highly talented artist. For a taste of his brilliance, try 'Burning out again', 'Brodsky tune', 'Los Angeles' and 'Ready to go home'. I will certainly be buying his other two albums on the strength of this one.

This for me is up there in my favourite albums of all time! this truly is an exceptional collection of songs of which I have only recently stumbled upon and I am so glad that I did!

I think that these are some of the best songs: Spanish Steps Half In Love Half In Hate Los Angeles Lay Me Down Tonight Tell Me What You See Stay Lord Ready To Go Home.

This album stirs up so much emotion! Harket's voice is outstanding and some of the tracks are deeply haunting and moving!

I am just disappointed I never discovered this musical gem sooner!

Great Album from one of the world's finest Voices ever to grace the Human Race!

Well donr again Morten Harket!

Spanish Steps, Half in Love..., East Timor, A Kind of Christmas Card, and Lay me Down Tonight are all powerful tracks. 'Los Angeles', meanwhile, is entirely wonderful - the chorus demonstrating the range of Harket's voice perfectly. I can't quite get into a couple of the tracks (5 and 11) but no album is perfect. Don't miss out.

Morten's debut as a solo artist (with new material at least) is nothing short of superb. Not a dud among these twelve tracks and Morten's own compositions rival even the best of A-ha up to this point.

One always has personal favorites and I think "A Kind of Christmas Card" is still his best. Sort of flirting with the same sound A-ha pursued on "Memorial Beach", a little raw and cut live in the studio, and the sad lyrics give it all the more power. As always Morten excels on ballads and especially good here are "Half in Love Half in Hate", "Los Angeles" and "Ready To Go Home" - again, these are somewhat melancholy songs and that describes this album pretty well.

He's also socially conscious on the excellent "Brodsky Tune" and "East Timor" and lyrically these are quite powerful. And "Lord" is also a huge favorite of mine.

While his other solo albums are quite strong in their own right; "Wild Seed" is still his best as a solo artist in my opinion.

This is a great album that really breaks new ground with soulful lyrics and "base chakra" beats.
Most of the songs have a theme of questioning the meaning of life - not in a particularly light-hearted manner. It's full of songs that say "been there", but nothing will pick you up if depressed.
Great to hear some original material from Morten - and a new depth that seems to have been reflected in a-Ha's latest offering, "Lifelines".
