Lynden's passions for photography and for the native Arums are combined to provide a reference that is second to none. The beautiful full page photography ranges from stunning landscapes to highly creative closeups.
Massive research has gone into this production and the chapters can be read in any order. Almost every aspect of "Lords and Ladies" is documented and referenced.
The book has been optimised for the electronic age and is available for Ipad. Because the images are high resolution you can blow them up to enjoy them in greater detail. Many of the references are internet links and so the book becomes an access platform to easily access the core material that the book is based on. Whereas the book will give many hours of enjoyment and learning, the electronic version will allow you to spend days getting lost in the world of this wonderful plant.
I am old fashioned. I still enjoy turning pages and getting lost in a book though I expect that the future will be the electronic version. I congratulate Lynden for taking this step to introduce us to some of what future publishing holds.
As an Arum enthusiast this book is a must and my review copy sits proudly on my bookshelf, alongside Prime's "Lords and Ladies" and Boyce's "The Genus Arum".
This is a book which will satisfy the Aroid enthusiast, the herbalist as well as people wanting a beautiful "coffee table" book.
