This is a great debut single. The song, Wide Awake, sums up the entire 90's era of rock: every riff, every vocal reminds you of every 90's band you ever loved. This combines The Verve, Oasis, Blur... but mainly The Stone Roses to make a stunning single. I'll wait with high hopes for the album...

Ok, lets calm down. With NME saying The Twang are the band of 2007 and Q magazine jumping on them you would be forgiven for thinking that the twang had released a lot of stuff. Well they haven't. But the single they have released is one of the best racks of 2007!

With echos of the Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses, Wide Awake has turned out to be the mst anthemic song of 2007 thus far. What a tune.

The chorus is such a catchy tune, the beginning of the song takes a while to get into but when the chorus hits you will get goosebumps on your neck! This is one of the best new bands at the moment, and it apears that this will be the band that are most likely to do a Kooks/Fratellis in the year of 2007.

I advise you to get this single, you won't regret it!

Forget all the comparisons to the Roses, Mondays, Streets etc. that's all just lazy journos scratching for a comparison. The truth is that if you like tunes with energetic vocals and guitars driving them forward then you'll love The Twang. Any influence you can care to mention can be found but they take them, mix them up and boot them out with a wall of noise and the most honest lyrics you'll ever hear.

Don't believe the doubters who claim they've heard it all before - watch them smash their way through their setlist live to see the range of music on offer. 'Wide Awake' is just the start - when they play 'Cloudy Room' live you can see the crowd turn to each other and say 'what is this?' - three minutes later the question is forgotten as an entire room is pogoing to a tune they've never heard before.

Refreshingly unique and devoid of the usual music scene in band fighting you're going to hear them everywhere this summer so get onto it now. And for anyone who likens them to Flowered Up! - jog on...
