I enjoyed this book much more than the first part of the story. Dixon finally learns that honesty is the best policy, and suffers badly for his sins. But his actions empower Madison, and she is able to come to terms and move on from the trauma she experienced. The last third of the book is very amusing. You just know that their happy ever after is just that - for ever.

There were so many ways this book could have gone and I was dreading it. Even though I didn't necessarily agree with all of Dixon's decisions I was OK with what happened. His love for Madison was so pure and wonderful and she really came into her own. They both grew so much. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I'd one hundred percent recommend this book.

If I thought that Dirty Dix played with my emotions, then I was totally and utterly NOT prepared for Wicked Dix!

I also make no apologies for being so vague with this review as you really do need to read the books for yourself - I don't want to give too many spoilers away!

Monica James picked up Wicked Dix were Dirty Dix left off and although I would completely recommend that you read the first book before the second, there are little sentences and paragraphs that refer back to previous events which lead us to the situation we are in now and at a push you could read book 2 as a standalone, but don't... just DON'T OKAY!!!

Dixon has been left in a predicament - if he tells the truth he will lose Madison, if he lies then he has to continue with Juliet and her games and most likely to end up losing Maddy anyway.
Despite his too best buddies, Hunter and Finch, urging him to tell the truth, Dixon decides to take matters in to his own hands and play Juliet at her own games.
Only she's one clever cookie and stitches him right up forcing his hand to confess all to an innocent Madison.

There were a few unexpected twists and turns in Wicked Dix, and unlike some of the bigger titles in the erotica genre that are on the market, Monica James' A Hard Love Romance series has so much more than just sex. Yes there is a lot of sex. Yes there were moments when I was like "What the...?

Wow wow wow (I started my review for book one exactly the same way, but these are slighter bigger ones!) This story is even better than the first book. As it is an ongoing story you must read Dirty Dix first.

By the end of book one I had varying ideas as to whether or not I totally liked Dr Dixon Mathews. He started off the book as one thing, but by the end had changed and was heading towards becoming someone totally different. The things he did show what a messed up person he was, but he showed a nicer, softer side when around Madison. However circumstances conspired against him and threatened to turn him back into the man he was.

This book takes Dixon to hell and back more than once. The things he has to do in order to achieve his end goal will shock, I know I hated him at various points throughout the book. Seeing the depths he will stoop to shows just how desperate he is to keep Madison from finding out the truth about his past with Juliet.

But as always the truth will always come out. The aftermath of the fallout also shocked me. I saw a different side of Dixon, but will it be enough to persuade Madison to forgive?

There were a few points near the end where the author throws in red herrings, she had me thinking I knew what was coming and trying to second guess everything. I was proven wrong on both, but the ending nevertheless was one I was satisfied with.

I would love to know more about Hunter, one of Dixon's closest friends, as I felt throughout this book that there was so much more to discover about him.

I loved finding out about Dixon's father, and seeing how other people interacted with him, and the scene during the awards ceremony was brilliantly done. It's one of my favourite scenes in the whole book.

I love this author, love this series and can't wait to see what comes next.

Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the series, Dirty Dix being the first and you really do need to read that book first as it ends on a cliffhanger and this book takes up the baton from that ending. My review of Dirty Dix is here.

In this book Dixon Matthews, psychiatrist to the addicted, is trying to make his fledgling relationship with Madison work as he realises how much she means to him and what a mistake the venomous Juliet was. Unfortunately Juliet is not letting go and is blackmailing him into continuing their relationship. So Dixon comes up with a plan to play her at her own game. With devastating consequences.

I really liked this book. Dixon deciding to grow up and be the man Madison needs him to be, gives him much more depth and even when he makes the wrong decisions it is for the right reasons: trying to protect his beloved Madison from the vile Dylan.

Madison also changes in this book, not allowing herself to be a victim, becoming stronger, partly due to her love for Dixon but also because she decides to take her life into her own hands and decides to move forward when she needs to.

The scenes with Dixon’s friends, Hunter and Finch, are memorable. Not just for the fun and humour but also the heartrending scenes when they have his back and support him through his heartbreak.

Wicked Dix is billed as erotica and it certainly does have some hot scenes, but this book is much more of a love story and a gorgeous love story at that.

Many thanks to the publisher, Bookouture, for sending me a copy via Netgalley.
