This book is easy to read, nicely laid out and really, really helpful. It is written with the candidate in mind but as an employer undergoing a recruitment process it has given me lots of great ideas for how to approach the interviews and an understanding of what certain questions and answers reveal. I have been trying out the 'Why You' questions on my grown up family and it makes for fun dinner table chat, but the lessons I am taking from the book will genuinely make a profound difference to the process of putting together the right team for my growing business.

"What do your co-workers think of you?" That's one of the 15 "fateful" questions you're most likely to be asked at a job interview, according to James Reed's book: Why You? 101 Interview QuestionsYou'll Never Fear Again". My one-I-prepared-earlier reply of "please don't enlighten me" would get me nowhere fast, so this is one book I really needed and will still refer to.

It doesn't provide definitive a winner-every-time answers to interviewers' booby traps but advises how to prepare beforehand around a wide range of questions and gives top tips on tactics. It also recommends the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) way to tackle the big event.

As for the other 86 lines of enquiry here's one I have encountered: "Why should we choose you over all the other candidates?" I don't know what they thought of my answer but I got the job.

The advice given by James Reed is vital if you have an interview on the horizon. Highly recommended.

This was a really helpful book at a time when I was coming out of uni and needed to get ahead of the crowd when it comes to interviews. You can never have too much help with preparing for interviews so I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be fully prepared for anything that comes their way.

Incredibly useful! Not too lengthy but gets all the necessary points in and covers virtually every question you'll ever be asked. And once you've read this you'll start noticing all the sneaky tactics interviewers use to try and throw you off your game - but now you won't be put off by them.

A useful book, but I found most of the scenarios in the "answer" sections to be very biased towards the sales market. Perfect if you're applying for sales roles, but not so helpful if you're preparing for an interview in other work sectors.

The books introductory chapters about preparing for a job hunt and specifically how to deal with pre interview nerves is invaluable.

The questions/ answers are comical with relevant advice throughout. I would recommend this book to anybody going through the job seeking process.

Having just been through multiple interviews, I believe that 80% of all possible (non-technical) questions you can face, really boil down to a set of 15-20, which is a rightful selling point of this book. If you are overwhelmed by the number and diversity of potential questions like I used to be, it will definitely help you cluster the questions, understand why they ask each (the real query behind the question) and what components you need in order to structure your own good answer, based on your experiences (the book is written in an industry-agnostic manner, so any field really, but obviously you won't find technical questions). You even get to see very frequent answers that you must avoid. Looking back to my first interviews, I think I was 20% ready compared to now and this book has played a role. Questions like, "what are your weaknesses?" that can easily kill you because they come very early in the interview are now a cup of tea. A valuable book IMO.
