This is a really good documentary. I bought it as I was feeling nostalgic and it really reminded me about how glorious le Tigre are. They are also incredibly funny and warm, which comes across really well. Definitely a good buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Electric Portrait of Riot Grrrls Gone Wild 9 Jun. 2011
By doofus mcpaddle - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
"Who Took the Bomp? Le Tigre on Tour" is a vibrant and detailed concert film, one that captures the now disbanded group's 2004 farewell world tour. The electronic/punk girl band have been viewed as feminist icons, ones that gathered a loyal community of fans from the female and queer communities in particular. Director Kerthy Fix does an amazing job of showing the three women as hilarious and down to earth people, who enjoy playing pranks on Slipknot and deal with such mundane concerns as packing their bags and bitching about exercise. However, they are also showcased as artists, ones who dealt heavily with gender identity, as well as sexism and homophobia in politics and the mainstream music industry.

But the main star of "Who Took the Bomp" is Le Tigre's music. One feels as if they were actually at the live performances- with the music sending chills down your spine and beats into your head. The shows are messy and fun, with the musicians doing goofy dances while video art is projected behind them; Le Tigre's use of multimedia keeps the concerts from getting boring. The film's style and shots are often rough and unsophisticated, but it truly captures the energy and enthusiasm of the group and its dedicated fans.

This film is an electric yet intimate look at Le Tigre, and would be perfect for any fans, as well as admirers of the Riot Grrrl era in general.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still bompin' after all these years 9 Jun. 2011
By declan macmanus - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
After signing to a major label, Le Tigre embarks on a year long tour and has it all documented. "Who took the bomp?" very much captures the feel of Le Tigre. The bad 80's style dancing they do on stage, the high-energy shows, their feminist beliefs, and the little idiosyncrasies that make them a band, it's all here. "Who took the bomp?" is genuine and doesn't require the viewer to be a fan of Le Tigre to enjoy it. At times, the filming can seem a little amateur, but nonetheless it held my interest till the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Story Told For All 5 Jan. 2013
By Amy Ketchum - Published on Amazon.com

Ok, it might sound a bit silly that this DVD is 'world changing' but it is. This type of music in general has been receiving a bit more exposure over the last few years but it needs more exposure. Buy this DVD for all of your friends! Play it at your bar, club, party. This may just be a DVD of a band on tour, but the songs are powerful. It is also powerful for young women to see other women making music (writing their own songs) and being productive in a male dominated field.
4.0 out of 5 stars Tour life: Le Tigre style 25 Aug. 2014

"Who Took the Bomp?" is an upbeat, dance filled DVD that will make you smile and feel glad that you were present at their shows and hey - you may even see yourself in the crowd. If you weren't lucky enough to catch a Le Tigre show, this is as close as you'll get so put on your dancing shoes and grab a water bottle while you pretend they are performing live in your bedroom/living room/office. "Who Took the Bomp?" shows you the colorful, smart, cheery, funny side of Le Tigre that we all know and love and has a ton of enjoyable extras in the bonus DVD.

I really like the way the documentary was presented and followed them through tour. For the first time I saw them on backstage and talking about themselves. Beautiful although I wanted to know about them a little bit more
