Bought this as a present for my aircraft nerd husband - unfortunately he's already bought it for himself! He has great admiration for Frank Whittle and the life he led and this book covers it with drama and humour and gives a true picture of the man

5.0 out of 5 stars Sir Frank Whittle's gift to the world. 3 May 2015
By Robert Porter - Published on
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This is an excellent account of all the opposition Frank Whittle had to overcome to make his invention a reality. His own government didn't support him properly. The Germans took his patent and ran with it.

Sir Whittle made a monumental contribution to mankind, much like the Transistor did.

Buy a copy, you will enjoy it.
