This book would be a delight for many people. Firstly for those belonging to a Embroiderers Guild, secondly to those who are members of a Jane Austen Society or any author of the 19th century to see the beautiful stitchery employed by the women of that era and thirdly by everyone who has an interest in history.

Fantastic book! Close up photos of costume items, detailed descriptions, very well illustrated. Many antique fashion illustrations showing the articles in use. I plan to purchase MORE books by Heather Toomer.
