I love Tim Minchin and the fact that he does songs for the National Autistic Society. Keep up the good work Tim!

This song is lovely. It never fails to make me cry, and it expresses everything I like about Christmas, which is that it can be a great time to spend with family even if you are not fussed about the religious trappings. Plus, it acknowledges that that whole world doesn't celebrate Christmas in the winter which I appreciate now that I live in Perth. It makes me feel like even though I am Jewish and an atheist I can like Christmas because of the good bits. My 11 year old daughter just had to do a list of A-Z Christmas words for class, and for W she put "White Wine in the Sun." Don't know if her teacher will get it but I was pleased she thought of it.

I've heard (recordings of) live versions of this song in the past and always wondered whether Minchin might produce a studio recording.

Compared to some of his other songs, this one seems to have a lot of mawkish sentimentality, but that's what Christmas is all about isn't it? And the sentiment in this song is honest.
And it's funny too.

I've already endured the first seasonal play this year of Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" so Minchin's song has provided some welcome relief.

I really like this song - it's one of the few Christmas songs that it's OK to enjoy. Not too schmaltzy but nicely sentimental and getting to the real ideas behind Christmas. Great lyrics as always from Tim and for a good cause as well.

The way that most aetheists feel about Christmas - a beautiful tune as well. Funny and poignant. So glad I bought this - for charity as well.

This song is simply wonderful; it combines a perfect blend of mellow melody with the words of true poetry. It symbolises the joys of living an atheist life; the joys of realising what really is important; namely, the deep emotional bonds within family. To call it beautiful would be cliché, but it would also be true. I fully recommend, dear reader, that you download this MP3.

This is the studio version of a song often performed at Tim Minchin's live shows. It is a beautiful song and nice that it's released as a 'proper' recording. Although the lyrics are sentimental... it is Christmas, after all.
