I enjoyed this book, I found myself being drawn into the story and the world of White Plains. It's got tension and adventure without unnecessary gore, I would happily let my teenage daughter read it. I've also read the sneaky peak of 'Origins' which is in the back of 'White Plains' and I'm looking forward to this next book being released. The present tense that the author uses took a little while to get used to but I'm so glad I persevered because it made you feel like you were present in the action rather than an observer. I've signed up to follow Rebecca Perkin and eagerly await more books from her!White Plains
Rebecca Perkin writes with wonderful clarity and astonishing pin-point perception. Her use of metaphor is extempore - always dazzling, never laboured. Her powers of description show the finest art of the storyteller. I feel that I have actually BEEN to White Plains. The vistas I saw there are ultra HD. I hope we won't have to wait too long for the sequel. Thrilling and truly a joy to read.
I really enjoyed this novel. I cared instantly about the characters and was completely enthralled by the world Samuel finds himself in. A beautifully written tale of bravery, strength, unity and the power of the human connection.
