Product Description

In Post-Celtic Tiger Ireland the murder rate is soaring and the gardai are struggling to cope with gangland wars, domestic disputes, and drunken brawls that spiral into fatal violence. To add to Detective Superintendent Colm McEvoy's workload are the deaths of two immigrants - an anonymous Lithuanian youth and an elderly German billionaire. While one remains an enigma, the murky history of the other is slowly revealed. But where there is money there is power and, as McEvoy soon learns, if you swim amongst sharks, you better act like a shark.

Format: Paperback
Coming from a background in Irish law enforcement I can say that the sequel to Rob Kitchin's The Rule Book is a terrific read which describes the investigation by D/Supt McEvoy into the murder of an elderly German billionaire. This is a very well written novel which grips the reader from the outset and easily holds the interest. The novel depicts McEvoy as a dedicated policeman who is above all human and despite many problems still has tremendous investigative abilities. Highly recommended and by the way make sure you check out The Rule Book.

Rob Kitchin's The White Gallows is a tightly written police procedural which digs at the dirt under the Irish upper classes perfectly manicured fingernails.
