~this review contains spoilers from book one-Mercy~

In only a couple of days, this case had become important to her. It wasn't solely a way to prove her worth to Nick and the firm. Regardless of how she felt about Jaxson personally, she believed in his innocence, and she wanted the system to work the way it was intended.

It's official, I am completely obsessed with this author and totally addicted to this series. Seriously, this woman takes my breath away- this series is proving to be one helluva wild ride with no end in sight. It's not even just the sex, though that is hella sexy, it's the characters...and the story... and the secrets... and the mystery... and the constant presence of danger lurking around every corner. Your constantly kept on edge for one reason or another and I love every damn minute of it. These are the kinds of books I thrive on, they make you think, they make you feel, they completely steal your attention and refuse to let go.

Her head hurt from all the romantic complications of the last few days. She'd gone from having a crush on Nick to kissing him, having sex with Jaxon, and then platonically sleeping with Nick. If the phone hadn't interrupted them, they would've kissed and lord knows what else.
She was so going to hell.

Greed picks up right on the tail of Mercy- You could say Kate is kinda having a bad day...with a few highlights. After walking in on her boyfriend nailing one of her best friends, Jaxon gives her a ride home and they spend some time 'getting to know each other' before he freaks and hightails it out of her apt. then to top off her night, she gets a disturbing phone call.

The second part of this hot, fast-paced serial begins with Kate feeling lost and confused, she shared something special with Jaxon, only for him to flee abruptly from Kate’s embrace. To make matters worse, she received a threatening phone call from an anonymous caller, causing her boss Nick to worry about her safety, and involvement in Jaxon’s case.

Kate’s professional relationship with Nick begins to blur just as she deepens her involvement with Jaxon. Due to the fact I hate the barest hint of love triangles, Nick is immediately on my bad list, I wish him to disappear, I can’t help it I’m #TeamJax ;-) . Jaxon is a man of few words, but what he lacks in the speech department he more that makes up for with his domineering presence. I’m starting to be wary of Nick as I can’t read his intentions and I’m not sure if he is looking out for his Jaxon and Kate’s best interests.

The case against Jaxon heats up, his in-laws are contesting the will and he is still very much a suspect in Alyssa’s murder. Kate is gathering clues all the while falling for Jaxon, which can be a very dangerous game.

“She had no doubt Jaxon would protect her from any physical danger. But who would guard her heart?”

In this instalment, more of Kate’s personality came out and I liked her sassy side as well as her vulnerable side. As much as she was weak at the knees for Jaxon, Kate made it clear that she wouldn’t be played for a fool.

“I know how safe I feel when I’m in your arms, and I trust you to honor my limits. But if you’re going to change your mind again or call me a mistake, you need to walk away now. Just because I don’t shed tears doesn’t mean I’m not crying inside.

Wow and the plot thickens!

I’ve just finished reading this the second part in this novella series and let me tell you I’m totally hooked, the characters are well written and draw you into the story they are believable and captivating.

Shelly really ramps up the heat factor in this novella the chemistry between Jaxon and Kate is raging hot.

But it’s the plot that is heating up right now, we are getting drawn further into the mystery and intrigue that will have you trying to solve the who done it part of this book the whole time your reading.

It’s starting to look like the killer has Kate in his sights next and there may have been another woman before Alyssa!
Can Nick and Jaxon keep Kate safe?, Is it possible that one of them is actually the killer?, who will Kate choose Nick or Jaxon?. Let me tell you I have more questions swirling through my mind right now and I’m loving it!

I hate it when the author give too much away and you solve the mystery too soon, but that is not the case with this book and I cannot wait to read the third novella in this series.

Highly recommend !!!!!
