I like many InMe fans out there waited anxiously and sometimes impatiently for 'White Butterfly' to come out. After their record label trouble, it was almost too hard to look forward to the second record. But we held on- "Faster The Chase" (the first single released may 2004) gave us a hint of something bigger, something more hopeful. 'Otherside' (December download) contradicted that idea with something dark and immensely powerful. When the album finally arrived, I can positively say it was worth the wait, heck even more of a wait. New single '7 Weeks' has a most infectious riff that has a hint of an Ash-style confidence that InMe make their own. Second single 'So You Know' has a hint of Lostprophets to it, but avoids the emo post-hardcore sound that is overused and overrated in today's industry. 'This Town', (the track that comes most recommended by magazine and online reviews) is exactly what 'Faster The Chase' hinted at: an epic arena filling antehmic sound that is largely unexpected from a band who had the youthful rawness of first album 'Overgrown Eden' to follow. Other highlights include the busy (and more traditional InMe-sounding) 'Safe In A Room' and the fast paced 'Just A Glimpse'. Dave McPhersons voice sounds older, more confident and has quite frankly many amazing moments (hear 'A World Apart'). I definately recommend the limited edition...not only does it come in snazzy casing but the extra tracks are so good you'll wonder why they weren't put on the proper album in the first place.
'White Butterfly' is an album that has had such a buildup that there are almost too many expectations for InMe to meet. However, if you listen with an open mind and try not to expect anything, you'll find that this album has a lot to offer. It sounds older, wiser and is definately a taste of even better things to come.

I first caught a whiff of InMe after downloading "Crushed Like Fruit" from their debut album, and I loved it. Unfortunately, this was the only song I heard, so any notion of purchasing Overgrown Eden was set aside. Having heard White Butterfly in its entirety, however, I WILL be buying the debut the next time I am out shopping anywhere...the band's second LP is superb. The songs are catchy and melodically strong, and the riffs borrow greatly from Muse ("Other Side" is VERY "In Your World"). The most attractive aspect of this release is lead vocalist Dave's singing, which wavers from a delicate, wounded murmur to a gravelly growl of intense of emotion, never losing its sense of a tune. A truly stunning voice, uncommon in rock of the genre. BUY IT!

And so it has arrived. The second InMe album! Eagerly awaited by a lot of people, and it hasn't let us down. A great mix of rock and more chilled out songs, the guys have cracked it. Stand out tracks have to be Just A Glimpse, Chamber and Angels With Snipers (Bonus Track). White Butterfly is so different from Overgrown Eden, you just can't compare them. InMe have progressed immensely in the past couple of years and their sound is so much more mature. Everyone should buy this, it's just amazing. =)

I pre ordered white butterfly AGES before the release, after hearing Faster the Chase and Otherside, i knew right away that this was going to overshadow Overgrown Eden, and that's what it has indeed done. With catchy rock songs like 7 weeks, to very calm mellow songs such as This Town. It also has hard rock songs such as A World Apart. It is so much better than overgrown eden, which i never thought i'd hear myself saying when i got overgrown eden.
easily worth 5 stars, if you liked InMe's debut album, this is a must. They have moved on so much musically.

This band has released five excellent albums of top notch rock music, the vocalist has a really unique voice and is flavoured by his ultra unique accent too and his incredible ability to make catchy choruses and play really trickywoo guitar riffs and leads. the Bassist is also really good and so is the drummer ^^
the whole album is really good and I love this band rather alot mayhaps a little bit on the emoey side so I couldn't give it a full five cos the lyrics are a bit depressing but still brilliant

Even though Overgrown Eden was really an amazing album, this one beats a million times over. The variation throughout the album makes it great. From hard hitting songs like Otherside and Safe In A Room to the delicateness of Almost Lost and Parting Gift, this album is perfect from beginning to end. No album filler, no bad production and no irritating sleeve notes. Definately an album worth getting.

I first heard InMe when they released the awesomely heavy 'faster the chase' and I was addicted. I didn't know what the song was called, so I stayed tuned to MTV2 for 5 days straight to note down the song when I heard it. White Butterfly is the second album from InMe, and although people were a bit sceptical over if they would sell out or try to make another Overgrown Eden, the response to this has been amazing, and rightly so. Dave has a talent that shows through on every song and makes you aware of the prescence of the music. My favourite tracks have the be parting gift, safe in a room and of course, 7 weeks. I had been waiting for this album for over a year and when I bought it on the day of its release, I knew it wouldn't leave my CD player...and it's still on right now. This is the kind of music you can connect with whatever mood you're in, whatever you're doing. It has a passion so rare it still moves me to silence sometimes. Just get this album, I swear you won't regret it...the only thing better than white butterfly is hearing it performed live by the lads themselves (if you get a chance to see them, take it...they have an awesome stage presence). In my opinion, this is the best alternative CD of 2005, hands down.
