The latter half of the book improved tremendously whilst the lovebirds, or should I say Hunter and panther, were separated.
There is a great group of characters and interactions between them, well most of them, are brilliantly told. The plot is well laid out and there is plenty to keep your interest. The Hunters, Shifters and Humans are a strange mix and allow so much scope for the author to use and she does to great aplomb.
Looking forward to book three, who knows is may be a sex free zone.
I've been waiting impatiently for the next installment of Lex and Lincoln's story, and after the cliff hanger of an ending in book 1 I can say that every reader will be very happy by the end of chapter one...
Now I don't want to write any spoilers, so I'm not going to be able to write lots of what I want to say, but here's what I liked about it...
We get to meet Caden... the Doctor who appears at the end of book one, and he's the perfect mixture of honour, compassion and loyalty, with a dash of handsome boy next door.
We get to enjoy a light and enjoyable time with Lexia as she try's to forget the present dangers and just enjoy her birthday, and she gets a surprise birthday visitor.
Lexia struggles to deal with whats happening to her, and who wouldn't? When your world is turned upside down you are going to have a hard time dealing with it, and I for one loved how Ms Raithby has let Lexia experience the doubts and insecure moments.
There's a lot of hot scenes in the book too so there is lots of Hot Book Boyfriend moments.
We also get more information on how Lexia was created, we get to meet the villain of the story, Lexia's mum Lucy... Boy what a complete psychopath she is...
We get a snippet of the 3rd book at the end of WOD (Yay )
I can't wait for the next installment .... Ms Raithby get writing ASAP
I had tears in my eyes a few times throughout the books, some of the scenes where emotional (or maybe it's just me??)... You know Rachel finished book 1 'Lexia' with a MAJOR cliffhanger, do you think she did the same for this book?? The answer would be HELL YEAH! You arrive at the end of the book uncertain at HOW everything is going to end... if Lexia will end her mothers rein in the hunters, if Lincoln wont give up completely on the tiny mating bond they share...
I loved this second book in the Trilogy, just as much as book 1, it was just as AMAZING & CAPTIVATING as 'Lexia'! I have book 3 awaiting me to devour & I'm hoping to get it read ASAP. Thank you Rachel for the magic you weaved in this action packed, paranormal love story....
This is the 2nd book in the Deadwood Hunter Series.
Lexia is still on the run and after losing her dad and now she knows her mum is bad and will stop at nothing, the only thing that's keeping Lexia going is Lincoln. They have to keep on running and the hunters keep tracking them, will she ever be free ?
This book is action packed and still just as hot and steamy. I like the new characters and am particularly interested to see where Derricks loyalties lie. I am really loving this series and once again I love Lexia and Lincolns characters, however I started to find Lexia a bit irritating as I couldn't quite understand why she keeps becoming mentally weak, her character in the first book was strong and feisty. I am really hoping in book 3 she can come back strong.
I am really looking forward to starting the next book !
