About the Author

Flynn is a Midwest girl at heart, born a Chicagoian with the mouth to prove it, a loyal Cubs fan, but still a die-hard Green Bay Packers gal who cheers for her alma mater, the Illini from Omaha, Nebraska, where she lives. She has always been interested in the darker aspects of life and mythologies—especially vampires, shifters, the occult, and anything paranormal.

To date, she has published over 100 paranormal books in different genres with dedicated readers who await each release to her numerous series under any of the three Flynn names she writes under.

2.0 out of 5 stars I have rarely encountered such melodrama 11 Mar. 2015

Rating: 4/10

- The variety of shifters in the world is amusing. I like that they all work together in spite of their strong sense of community within their separate groups.
- There’s a lot of sex here, so if you’re looking for something that’s heavy on the erotica, you might enjoy this. (Although it’s definitely not for you if you prefer your romance to be of the monogamous variety.)

- The writing here is incredibly sloppy. Aside from the general misuse of basic English grammatical constructions, it irritated me that the first chapter is told in first person from one character’s perspective (the same narrator as the first book in the series) and the rest of the book picks up with a different narrator. And then the POV changes again at 70 percent…although it doesn’t last long with that character; it soon goes back to the second one.
- I nearly choked on the melodrama. The characters are so over-the-top, so silly, that I had to force myself to keep reading. And force myself again. And again.
- There’s a scene in the middle of the story that’s supposed to be some sort of feline mating ritual that is one of the most cringeworthy scenes I’ve ever skimmed. It’s just achingly, embarrassingly bad.

Overall comments: This tries to be a good story (and it actually *does* have a good story IDEA buried deep in there), but Eire gets bogged down by overly detailed descriptions of some things (like characters’ physical appearances) and then brushes over other important things without describing them enough. Couple that with the characters’ overreactions and their desire to have sex at inappropriate times…and I’ve decided that I should stop this series at Book 2.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Fast-paced Ride 29 April 2014

I thought that there was no way that I would enjoy this book as much as the first. I was wrong!
This book starts where the first one ended. The paranormal council knows more than they are letting on. Hadley, a snowy owl, must fly to the feline Prince as fast as possible to share the news of human plans and the paranormal council's deceit. When Hadley meets the Prince he is instantly attracted and they make a deal. In return for his service Hadley gets to request something of the prince. Is their relationship more than a request that the prince can't deny or is Hadley going to find himself with a broken heart.
Flynn gave these characters life and fleshed out more of each the species cultures and ways of doing things--for example the felines have some interesting rules about how the prince must produce an heir. Then Flynn gives us lots of conflict and obstacles for the main characters. Her descriptions are so vivid that I could picture all the planning going on. Of course there is plenty of spicy sex going on. One thing I am really enjoying about this series is that these people don't have the instant love and mating when they first meet. There is strong physical attraction and these relationships take some time and effort.
5.0 out of 5 stars Book 2 30 April 2014

This book picks up right where book 1 leaves off so you don't miss any of the action. We also get to see some of the characters from book 1 and know how they're doing. I really like that Flynn does this and doesn't just drop the characters since the book isn't about them specifically. There's still tons of action in this book that makes it so you don't want to put it down.
I liked that one of the characters was an owl shifter. It's a refreshing difference from all of the wolves and bears in the paranormal genre.
I'm so excited to read the third book in this series. Can't wait to see what happens next.
5.0 out of 5 stars Book 2 I absolutely loved it. 28 April 2014

This series is about all of the paranormal world and they are in trouble. Hadley is someone that you are glad is on your side. His character really made this story stand out strong. Everyone needs their own Hadley. This is a must own for everyone's library. Can't wait until the next book comes out to see who that hero is going to be.
4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent action with characters I liked 1 Mar. 2014

This is the second story in the series but the best so far in my opinion. I liked both main characters and there was plenty of action in the story. If you read this story and enjoy it, you might have to go back and read the first one of the series, The Coming Storm, to fill in the background to this story.
