I did get to the end of this book, so I think there must be something reasonably compelling about the plot and characters, but there are major issues with it. Clearly a lot of people like this author, but if you know you are sensitive to punctuation, I'd advise against this novel. Large sections of this book, particularly the dialogue - of which there is a lot - have about half the punctuation they need. As this punctuation problem affects all the dialogue, the characters seem more alike than I imagine the author intends. I know there is a trend towards dropping commas, etc, in some modern novels but the problem was more extensive than that. It bugged me enough that I had to speed-read through sections.

I hope the author/publisher gets to choose a good editor for her next books; it would have improved this novel 100%.

Read the third book in this series first as a stand alone but came back to the first book out of curiosity and to see if it would make the third book more enjoyable. This was a pleasant enough book, again a bit padded out with too much sex and not enough story for me. The characters (Ben & Mia) were good, but the storyline was weak and predictable. The only excitement happened towards the end and again seemed rushed. I like a good epilogue but this only skimmed quickly over the good stuff, like I'm moving in, and then oh I'm pregnant, the end. More could have been made of the battle for Nolan and his settling down after all the trauma, whilst Mia who appeared not to shed more than a couple of tears over her mum had maybe one or two pages dedicated to her pain and loss.
As I say an easy ok read for the summer but it didn't hold my attention and I kept wandering off. I won't bother with book two as I assume it would be more of the same. Will keep an eye for more from this author and hope her writing matures and grows.

I picked this up as I kept seeing it on Instagram. I'm glad I did, as I've been on a huge NA kick. Loved the story, yes there was a lot of sexual content but there was other stuff happening that made it a good story an not just erotica. I loved how much Officer Ben Kelly really loved Mia and he wanted to change for her. It was sweet and Ben was a lovely father to Nolan. A sweet story

Loved this story. Mia having moved away from the town she grew up in, comes back to spend the summer with her best friend Tessa. Before she has to admit to her friend she's still a virgin, she stops of at a bar, determined to pick up a guy for a one night stand. The barman puts a drink in front of her, saying it's from the guy at the end of the bar, she looks back and finds that he's as hot as hell. When she looks again, he's gone only to find out he's standing right behind her. They get talking, and end up spending the night together. He's completely taken by her, and when she leaves without even giving him her name, he dashes after her, but she's gone. When she gets to Tessa's she's nervous about running into Ben, Tessa's brother, who was brutally cruel to her, about her weight, hair, looks and anything else he could criticise about her. Tessa assures her that he won't be around as he has his own place. Next day lo and behold guess turns up, BEN, who just happens to be the guy Mia spent the night with, and boy that's when the fun starts. I really enjoyed this story and will definitely be reading the rest in this series. Buy this book and enjoy.

It's been awhile since I picked up a new book and finished it. I've picked up a couple recently n put them down as they didn't get me straight away! So I've been doing a lot of 're reads of old favourites. I saw where I belong on sale n decided to give it ago I'm so glad I did it is a brilliant read. Easy n fun n all the characters are likeable. I've downloaded to rest of series where hopefully I will get to see where all the other characters end up and of course the next stage of Ben n mia's relationship.

I recommend this book as a perfect summer read. It just has the right amount of humour and sex with a least amount of angst. The characters are likeable with an alpha but sweet hero. Go check this book out!

What a wonderful story This author has created with these Mia and Ben.
The main characters and secondary characters are all awesome, especially Nolan he just steals the show at times!

I loved that Ben and Mia had this awkward relationship at first, there was a lot of hurt and resentment on Mia’s side because of the teasing and bullying Ben put her through when they were kids. Ben really worked hard to prove he wasn’t still that jerk kid and that he was a good man deep down.

Tessa had me laughing so much that girl has a smart dirty mouth, I can’t wait to find out how her story will go, I really liked Luke’s character so it should be great!

This is the story of what happens when you meet up with your childhood nemesis for the first time in years as adults.
Loved the idea of this book when I read the blurb and I wasn't disappointed, Mia and Benjamin were hilarious and the story drew me in from the start.
This was the first book in a new series by J. Daniels and if the others are as good I can't wait.
