Brian Murray, sixty-something and a failure in his own mind, had enough of American politics and plenty to drink, along with regrets. He promises the locals of a small Florida sailing community if Bush wins his second term he'll leave America on his forty-foot sailboat, though it still sits in a dusty corner at the Ponce Inlet Boathouse. An ignorant ex-Navy jack-of-all-trades, a nineteen-year-old naive waitress and retired FBI prototype feel as isolated and misunderstood as the old man. The unlikely crew departs for an uncertain future at sea.
