A stunning book! A story based around a very tough subject, but written with a lot of sensitivity! I really felt for the characters - the story took me through every emotion going and more! I laughed, cried and also got very angry and confused at times. I would highly recommend!

I'm a big fan of A.L.Jacksons but have not yet read all of her books - I'm slowly working my way through and this one did not disappoint!

I downloaded this back in February as I had read the other books by the same author and throughly enjoyed them; however, when I eventually got round to reading this (yes my reading list is that long!), I thought hang on, I've already read this. I then discovered that this book when downloaded onto my kindle was the exact same story as Pulled - yes the exact same story featuring Melanie & Daniel.

So where was my copy telling the story of Will & Maggie?
I cannot now return this, and dont want to re-order incase I get the same book a 3rd time - any suggestions anyone ?

This was my first encounter with this author but as soon as I am done pouring out my opinions I will be searching out more.
Told in first person narrative from both male and female p.o.v, when we collide is the story of Will and Maggie who due to circumstances you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy are ripped apart and forced to live their respective lives in pain and regret for the next six years. A family bereavement brings Will home and from the instant he sees Maggie again his self-imposed lonely life is flipped on it's head and a gut-wrentching struggle for the happiness they both crave and deserve brings their families into a dangerous and ultimately deadly situation.
My advice to you is
Firstly, buy this book, you will not regret it, then do not read it until you have a full box of tissues and space in your day to read this undistubed in one sitting.
I'm off now to search out more books by this author, I hope I have been helpful.

3.5 - 4 Stars in my Sky!

When We Collide is dramatic, heartbreaking and kinda brutal at times. Once you look past all the horrible things that have happened, it's also hopeful and positive!

When Maggie and William meet they go on a collision course of pain. Love? Yes, but also pain and suffering. Their meeting is life altering and destructive, but it's also beautiful and sweet.

Maggie's story is really sad and upsetting (I don't want to spoil anything but as there are a few triggers here I felt I should point out that the book involves domestic abuse, violence and rape). Maggie has a pretty traumatic past and a fairly horrible present. She grew up accustomed to suffering and doesn't have the strength to break from her torment now. The only bright spot in her past was meeting William.

William has been treading water and not really living for years. It is only when he is forced home that his life begins to change again. He's the only person who truly sees Maggie, but she needs to find the inner strength to see her own worth. I loved William and really felt for him when he made certain discoveries.

When We Collide isn't an easy read and if you're a fan of light and uncomplicated stories, then it probably isn't for you. I found it harrowing at times but I'm glad I read it. A.L. Jackson covers the difficult topics with sensitivity and does a good job highlighting certain issues! I enjoyed the romance and was really hoping for a HEA!

I've had the Biffy Clyro song Many of Horrors (When We Collide) stuck in my head since reading A.L. Jackson's book. These is for a couple of reasons; one is obviously the title of the book, but mainly it's because the lyrics are very fitting and go so well with the story...

This book is HEARTBREAKING!

I agree with other reviews it should have a warning on the back that says 'only read if you are prepared to lose your heart and soul!

I was drawn to this book as soon as I saw its beautiful cover and it illustrates what this plot revolves around - but then 'When We Collide' is so much more - it tells the story of an enduring love; the importance of family; being true to one's own feelings and reveals the dark effects of abuse in its different forms.

The story is told from the perspectives of the two main protagonists, William and Maggie. A.L Jackson writes using a first person narrative, allowing the reader to grow more attached to the characters, but she not only chooses to switch perspectives but tells the story in the present tense and from six years earlier. This is a sad heartbreaking story so be prepared...........

A. L. Jackson has written this story beautifully, what can I say you need to read it. I loved William, so lovely and I felt for him in every way and Maggie, poor thing, I won't go into the book description as this will spoil it however this book is not a light read and for some it may be a tough journey but it is worth it.

A. L. Jackson has created a world of beauty with her words and although the end is a shocking climax it is any reader will be pleased they got there. Can we have another book PLEASE!
