Book two in the series, for me this is one of those books that I think it is fairy important to have read the first of the series before you pick it up. So I don’t think I would be the only reader to have had a quick whip through Rae of Sunshine prior to opening the front cover.
There is something really sweet about the story and I am not sure if that is what the author was going for, but I’m not being derogatory because its charm spoken to me in as much as I found it really engaging.
The story was so romantic, it was about making a decision and sticking to your guns, about doing what it takes to have what you want and being prepared to work for that end result.
Thea and Xander are in Vegas and we all know the old saying that what happens in Vegas stays there, well if only that was the case because for this pair, the piece of paper that they wake up with telling them they are now married means that they have a very quick decision to make, admit they made a huge mistake and have their quickie marriage dissolved or give what they have a shot and embrace their new status, after all they said I do.
But can they make their marriage work?
I like this pair, they are open and understanding, they talk things through, they gave themselves the opportunity to actually succeed. Of course it wasn’t all smooth sailing but it was actually less traumatic than I thought it was going to be.
I liked the authors writing style, she isn’t too complicated, she lays everything out and gives the characters the opportunity to shine. She filled the story with super characters, the connection with Rae and Cade and their families brought their lives to life.

"Xander and I are like two stars colliding—I always thought we’d turn into a black hole, but right now, in this moment, I see that’s not it at all. No, we’ve simply merged into one, making a larger, more magnificent star."

When Stars Collide is the second book in the Light in the Dark Series it is a standalone but i would recommend reading the first book Rae of Sunshine just to get the full experience of this series. This is a beautiful story of friends to lovers or in this case friends to marriage! it's a fast paced low on angst easy read, it flowed beautifully leaving me with happy feels.
Xander and Thea have been friends since they were young children. Xander is Thea's brother best friend so when they wake up married in Vegas i can understand why they decide to keep it a secret at first not wanting to spoil a life long friendship. Even though they both have had these feelings for each other for a long time neither have acted upon them. Thea panics but Xander knows this is where he's always wanted to be. This leads to a lovely story of a couple working together on there relationship without all the pressure of others around them. We do get some drama but its not over the top which is why this is a beautiful story about love its not weighed down with major omg moments, sometimes you just want to sit down relax and fall in love and we get just that with Xander and Thea.

"I kiss her like she's the sun, and moon, and stars all wrapped in one. She's everything in this world that dreams are built upon.

I would recommend this series if you enjoy love stories that are cute, sweet, low on unnecessary drama and angst.

I've been waiting for Thea & Xander to get their own book since they were introduced as the side characters in the author's Rae of Sunshine a couple years ago. You could tell they had chemistry and that their was more to be told about the two of them. I was super ecstatic to hear that their story was finally going to be told and it definitely went above and beyond all the expectations I had. When Stars Collide is a very well written, 5 star, captivating read that you won't ever want to put down and when it's all over you will still be wanting more. And that cover is absolutely gorgeous and eye catching.

Xander and Thea have been best friends and in each others lives for as long as they can remember. Xander is Thea's brother Cade's best friend and therefore any relationship other than friendship has been forbidden for them. When a drunken night in Vegas and the explosive chemistry between these two end up with them waking up married to their dream person, you'd think this would be a dream come true, right? Wrong! Thea freaks out because she knows their is no way her brother would ever approve even though she has always loved and had a special connection with Xander and she wants this annulled immediately. Xander says she can have her divorce if he can have the rest of the summer to prove to her that they belong together. All's fair in love in war, or is it?

The chemistry between them is combustible from the start. I always knew these two belonged together from the first moment they were introduced to us. They have a strong friendship which is a great basis for an even better marriage but all is not always easy between these two. Xander and Thea really take the whole for better and for worse line to the next level.
