Alabama Summer Series by J Daniels

Book 1 ~ Where I Belong ~ 4 stars!!
Book 2 ~ All I Want ~ 4 stars!!
Book 3 ~ When I Fall ~ 4.5 stars!!

(I have only included the parts relating to this book)

I read these books back to back so I thought that it was only fair I reviewed them all at once. J Daniels was a new author to me, I had heard a lot about the "Bama Boys" and as When I Fall was soon to be released I thought I would save them all up and read them together. I have to say it was hard to cope with all the hotness and male perfection in one dose!!

Each book centres around a different couple and bar Beth who only shows up in book 3, all the other characters are there throughout the series. Where I Belong is Ben and Mia's story, All I Want is Luke and Tessa's story and When I Fall is Reed and Beth's.

Now Reed, our poor Reed, he had had his heart broken by his teenage sweetheart, so broken was his heart that he was not prepared to even entertain the idea of love ever again. He was determined to keep what was left of his heart intact and so the serial manwhore, one night stand man was born. But even from earlier books you could tell that Reed had a heart, you could tell that this man was easily loveable and you could also tell that Reed had a lot of love to give.

Beth had had a really hard life and after being left all alone she found out that she had an aunt and uncle she never knew she had. With no other options she seeks them out and so her trip to "Bama" begins.

"If you think kissing is the best part of being with a man, then you've been with the wrong ones."

It's not long before Reed and Beth meet and at last Ben and Luke can get their revenge.

I bought this based on the number of 5* reviews. Whilst the chemistry between Beth and Reed was palpable I felt their character development lacked depth. The story trundled along like a train going through stations but without much explanation of the whys and wherefores. We find out that a previous boyfriend was 'mean' which left Beth feeling worthless but the minute a problem develops in the new 'perfect' life she runs back to him........why??? It just felt a bit prescriptive and like the author rain out of ideas. I alway know when a book no longer holds my attention when I start skip reading large chunks and this happened at about 60%

Well well well just when I didn't think IT couldnt get any better along comes Reed.
He's just your typical I got really hurt manwhore or is he?
No, no he isn't ,Reed is just more.
He meets Bethy at the local bar, he's kinda knocked on his arse by her...she is sweet, outspoken and sexy as all get out but something happens which quite frankly he doesn't take well and he just becomes more confused.....and here it all starts.
The push and pull....the intense chemistry...the not so subtle flirting and hilarious banter, I just adored them both from the outset and the more I read the more we got yo peel back the layers of both of them.
Bethy was an honest soul...a sad heartbreaking life in lots of ways but she is not broken...she's brave and strong and doesn't hide behind her fears, she goes for what she wants and behind the shyish girl lies a real feisty...loves a bit of dirty talking and dirty sex kinda girl and Reed who'd a thought that!
It was storytelling at its finest...full of hope, second chances, love and great friendship.
I loved seeing s'all the others again...Ben & Mia...Luke & Tessa...sigh I'd missed them too and Bethy's Aunt & Uncle were great additions ...oh and a bitch of an Ex!
Stunning....read it, devour it...love it just like me and Reed...yeah he may just be the hottest guy on the planet!

I have loved every single book by J.Daniels. The Alabama Summer Series has it all. And this book....well, this book was the very best in a fantastic series. Reed is one of my favourite ever heroes. I laughed out loud at some of his lines and I LOVED his inner monologues . He was so sweet with Nolan~ their interactions were just gorgeous. Then there was Reed's passionate side. Sweet Jesus the man can talk dirty. Kindle freezer moments are mandatory .... phew!!! It was addictive reading watching him fall for Beth. Beth is such a brilliantly written heroine. I adored her. She was strong but vulnerable. Sweet and sassy. And she was so open in her love for him.
Great to see the others in the gang. I liked how involved the other four were. Oh....and I so want C.J's story . I don't think I have ever highlighted so many bits of a book. Definitely on my faves/ re read/ top hero/ best of 2015 lists!

Not a bad story about Beth and Reed who both have problem backgrounds of course. This is the third book in a series that didn't quite live up to the blogs I read. Reed is friends with the two couple's in the previous books and I think maybe I should have read them in order, although it does say can be read as a stand alone. Did like the characters mostly but some parts were just a bit unbelievable (oh really would you), and although I enjoy the sexy scenes there was a bit too much and I felt like the sex was used to fill up the story. Just a bit too predictable for me with a thin storyline at best. I am however going to read book 1as their story looks interesting, and will keep an eye on further books from this author.
