Book 1 ~ Where I Belong ~ 4 stars!!
Book 2 ~ All I Want ~ 4 stars!!
Book 3 ~ When I Fall ~ 4.5 stars!!
(I have only included the parts relating to this book)
I read these books back to back so I thought that it was only fair I reviewed them all at once. J Daniels was a new author to me, I had heard a lot about the "Bama Boys" and as When I Fall was soon to be released I thought I would save them all up and read them together. I have to say it was hard to cope with all the hotness and male perfection in one dose!!
Each book centres around a different couple and bar Beth who only shows up in book 3, all the other characters are there throughout the series. Where I Belong is Ben and Mia's story, All I Want is Luke and Tessa's story and When I Fall is Reed and Beth's.
Now Reed, our poor Reed, he had had his heart broken by his teenage sweetheart, so broken was his heart that he was not prepared to even entertain the idea of love ever again. He was determined to keep what was left of his heart intact and so the serial manwhore, one night stand man was born. But even from earlier books you could tell that Reed had a heart, you could tell that this man was easily loveable and you could also tell that Reed had a lot of love to give.
Beth had had a really hard life and after being left all alone she found out that she had an aunt and uncle she never knew she had. With no other options she seeks them out and so her trip to "Bama" begins.
"If you think kissing is the best part of being with a man, then you've been with the wrong ones."
It's not long before Reed and Beth meet and at last Ben and Luke can get their revenge.Read more ›
One nasty bitch of an ex did a compete number on him and despite the fact that he never goes short of willing partners, he doesn’t do second servings. His onetime only deal has played out ok for him so far or so he thinks, his friends and family would beg to disagree. While he has worked his way through most of the available females in town, he is rocked to his very core when he is completely side swiped by a sexy little newcomer.
Beth has lost everything she has ever loved in her life, when her mother died, she lost her only parent, her home and all hope – this kid was living in her car for god’s sake! But in a twist of fate she has discovered that her mother has a sister that is still alive and very much looking forward to meeting her.
Packing up her belongings and leaving the degenerate that thinks it is acceptable to verbally torment and abuse her she sets off to find her family, a new life and herself.
She meets Reed at her aunt and uncles bar and the attraction may not have been expected but when he shows an interest she can’t help but react, what she didn’t expect was for her to be the one leading the show.
Reed’s ex is back in town to flaunt not only her wealth but the fact that she is getting married – brandishing an invite to the engagement party she is determined to rub Reed’s nose in the fact that she has moved on and that he hasn’t since he has refused to form any lasting relationship.Read more ›
When I fall is the third in the Alabama Summer series by J. Daniels and is Reed and Beth’s story. Reed the guy who had his heart broken, and had therefore he had given up on love. He was just choosing to have meaningless one night stands until he meets Beth the girl who not had an easy life, and wants to find that all soul-consuming love.
“I WAS IN LOVE ONCE. Once. One time to many”
“Love should be unpredictable. I want it to hit me and like, knock me on my ass”
I was looking forward to this book, and J. Daniels didn’t disappoint. Reed he had such a big heart and was such a great friend and the more I read, the more I fell in love with this man. The fact he’s a dirty talker just sealed the deal even more.
“I just want to eat and f*** all day. You in?”
Beth was a sweetheart, levelheaded; down to earth girl and after all she had been through she still had an upbeat disposition. Love that she loves her Kindle, a girl after my own heart.
“Hope is a funny thing. Even when you think you have none, it refuses to lie down quietly. In the darkest moments of my life, I've always had hope”
I adored Reed and Beth together. I could feel their connection, and their chemistry was sizzling hot!! They shared many swoon worthy and tender moment between Beth and Reed. From the moment, Reed met Beth he knew she was different there was something about her. Loved how they help each other heal emotionally
“If it means something to you, it means something to me”
Just like the first two in the series when I Fall was a big hit with me. Loved catching up with Ben & Mia, and Tessa & Luke. Love the bathroom screen just was just too funny.Read more ›
